its ok useing one of those heaters but you only get around 100 hours running time which is around £30 a bottle the blue ones

well theyres 3 settings on the cab one anyway, so im thinking lowest all night from say 12am - 8am (8hrs) not too sure how long that will last, but theyre £20 to refill my  6 or 7kg calor propane bottles.

but it will save me bringing in 2 minging heavy reels for 2 months and 3 poles, plus protect the filters and pipes. i might lag them too.

just priced up 10 x of 35mm celotex boards for £25. but not too sure if that will work? as i cant totally seal the van especially the floor. might be a waste of time and money?

i was thinking of removing the tank and inserting some boards underneath, but its the pipes that freeze, the tank just has a layer of ice at the top. so that might not be worth it either?

i was hoping if i do the heater route, that the water in the tank might be a bit warmer and help in preventing the hoses from freezing too?

i was asking a question? why would you want to put that in your van, if it was to catch fire insurance wouldnt pay out also the fact that its prob illegal  :
im just curious thats all im new to all of this. trying to find out as much as i can. dont ask questions you never get answers do ya!!

fair enough, Its to stop water fed pole systems freezing up during winter. I would doubt its illegal though.

It may not be illegal but having a naked flamed heater in the van is somewhat risky.

With a calor gas heater, don't leave it on all night just put it on for an hour before you go out.

i doubt that would work, i once was there 3 hrs defrosting my pump, pipes, reels b4. used a hairdryer, and about 100 kettles!

what if you wrap it with bubble wrap, i kno it is a pain in the arse to keep doing.
sounds silly but warm water belive it or not freezes faster than cold  :
