To be honest I have managed to work to around -2 as long as the building is heated, so for me the cost is not worth it

Yes the aquarium heater I seem to remember you used at the beginning of this year. I'm not calling you a liar just asking why you heat your water that's all.

i didnt use a aquarium heater at the beginning of this year as i was moving house , theres lads who come on here who no me well enough and no this is true .
i do use aquarium heaters for the benifit of having warm water during the winter months , i use ipa and ive never had a problem with freezing , i use a calour gas heater in the back of my van on cold and frosty mornings , ive got a really good round that earns me a good living , ive now been a windowcleaner for 11&1/2 years and no what ive achived and what ive used and what works i try to help people the best i can based on what ive done and what ive used thats worked for me .

You said in January that you have been using aquarium heaters for the past three years. Do you think your warm water prevents freezing or the ipa?

Quote from January:

if gazza reads this post he will back me up on what i write .
ive used aquarium heater in my van tank 400 ltr for the last 3 years , i gave gazza the same type of heater i use which is a 300w  this will get your water to a luke warm temp but you will never miss a days work by using 1 , allso as the water heats up  in your van this gives a radiator effect so keeps the rest of your stuff from freezing .
im just in the process of having a static system frame built which runs off my central heating ,it will never get my water to a boiling temp but it will never freze eithe

yes thats true mate i did put that based on the previous years of using a aquarium heater i didnt say that i was using it in january of this year i made the post in january on what ive done previously and this as kept me working .
a answer to your question on the warm water or ipa kept the water from freezing = at the start of this year i didnt have a drive and couldnt really use a heater as i was in between moving it was just a case of fill my van up from my static tank all i used was ipa and i worked when others didnt so im going to say ipa prevented my water freeezing .
if you want to keep reading my back post i hope you can pick up a few good tips that ive tried to share with others .

This should be easy to prove or disprove. Bung 1.5ml of IPA in a litre of water and put it outside the next frosty night. If it freezes its balls if it doesn't we'll all be out buying some. Personally I think these small amounts are getting into the relms of homoeopathy.
