Hello Bob,

If you want to use Isopropyl Alcohol in your water, then use about 500ml roughly coke can size in your 250litre tank.

But remember use with caution and do not put the same amount in everytime you fill up your tank as this will decrease the dilution i.e. have more chemical in the tank, which in turn increases the risk of a flashpoint occuring.

Just use sparingly.

It does however work, with regards to the cleaning process in the winter months albeit you will only need to use it for a couple of days at the most.

I used it for two years thinking it helped but trust me last year or should I say early this year it made no difference at all, so I would say none as well.

500ml in 250l...absolute waste of time,effort and cost...personal judgement does not override physics in this matter. I am not trying to be rude but that ratio is nonsense and that reference to the flash point is odd...

it would cost a fortune to use those dilution rates i do use it from time to time and i did think it helped but after last winter i am not so sure but i will use what i have got ,      But it was extremely cold as for evaporation when i am cleaning and rinsing you can see it in the water it fizzes and looks as though the custy might have been cleaning own windows with loads of soapy water if you know what i mean , but their is no way you could clean a cold porch or conny on a frezzing cold day it will frezze up on glass

I have photos of windows that froze up and the dilution was 10%...it just evaporates leaving the water to freeze...plus I found that using it I got a sore face I think that the alcohol was in the water in a mist and that caused sore-ness....this has only happened when using alcohols...

Thing is dean there is so many factors, as I said I used it and thought it was great but when temperatures really dipped it was useless.

you have to use a min of 10percnt to stop the water at minus 1 if it drops below minus 1 then that percentage increases, so technically its not cost effective. i used it when i first started but now just pop a heater in truck over night

It is anti freeze in it's purest form. Tompoole is correct though, at -3 or 4 you need 10% and more if it gets colder to prevent freezing.
So a 250 litre tank need's 25 litres, at a cost of approx £5 per litre, it is not viable to use.
If yo do traditional cleaning then it works very well in a bucket and does stop any freeze up, even on the coldest of days.
Did you know the Ice road truckers use it in their window wash system? True, I heard them talk about it.
