Tulsion is MUCH better. I get about 30% more pure water per bag.

I've tested & used them both over a long period each.

Tulsion is the better BUT there isn't a huge difference in it (with my tap water anyway, 90ish ppm)

Both are good resins, especially with twin DI's.

However, there is a HUGE difference between these & purolite which is not a patch on the others & rubbish for twin DI's as when it goes off, it goes off like a rocket, where as the other two hold a low tds for much longer meaning a more prolonged resin life.

I second Winpro , started 6 years ago on purolite , it was all i knew , was introduced to dowex , this blew purolite away , tried a bag of gardiners , no disrespect to alex but about the same grade as purolite , then went on to tulsion ....top notch stuff , wont use another now , having said that got caught short last week and had to use dowex , note to self , keep stock of stock !

I think that DI only users notice the difference more than RO , DI users .

noticed the differance since iv ad the merlin
but iv ad gud teachers along the way jsm (john )
being my major one but as i love trad im easy
aving a minium price per job if round is spread out
also helps , but as mine getting more n more compact iv
noticed the differance using tulsion after RO

Think about this Gav-

I operate a 400ltr van mount, my tap tds is 90ish ppm. I only use 2 x bags of Tulsion per YEAR! total cost for my yearly pure water is £145.

I can fill my tank in 10 mins from any tap, anywhere, never run out of water. No membranes etc to change, no RO to mess with or defrost, no waste water either.

I come home after work, plug hosepipe into tank for 10 mins to fill, then that's it, done! As simple, easy & cheap as that!

Don't be fooled by poorly informed nonsense you can read on here at times, like P@F said, the DI only guys, with plenty of experience will know just how much better this is.

That's a bit different to my £25 a week water bill plus resin, plus six monthly filter changes, plus new membranes at nearly £100 a set.

That's purifying on-demand though, DI's on van & pumped through. If you insist on blasting water through the DI's to fill tank with pure then expect a lower return on resin life.

How do you work that out? Surely if a canister of resin can purify, say, 2000l of water then it will do that no matter how fast the water goes through it.

no it doesn't work like that.

passing water through the resin slowly will increase resin life as contact time is maximised.

Its like my kidneys, I pass the whisky through them too quickly its going to be hard on them!

No. The faster water goes through a di,the higher your tds reading will be. Ergo,water pressure/flow rate will alter tds readings and resin consumption. WindproClean is technically spot on!

I totally get the increased flow rate/ higher TDS argument but it doesn't necessarily that resin will last longer the lower the flow rate. It just means that it takes longer to reach the limit that it will purify.

The longer the water stays in contact with the resin the more efficient the resin is - meaning less beads are used in purifying and so forth.

think of my kidneys - they got a real hammering last night and I'm pretty sure they are plotting to kill me now.

Think of Alans Kidneys as resin  , the more alcohol that goes through them,the harder they work! It won't be long before they're knackered! If Alan drank in moderation,they'd last longer! Hope you're well Al
