a lot of people i know have stopped me in the street telling me that a fair few people have had there gutters cleaned and they have damaged the gutters with the equipmeant any one has had perhaps there not worth the money

Tell that to the guys on here who make a mint out of them and who have regular, annual repeat customers for them.

It amazes me that "a lot of people are stopping you in the street" to discuss gutter cleaning!

as with anything there are the good and bad

i have got three new gutter cleans to do today just from offering the service to my customer just under £ 200 of work i did'nt have at the begining of the week

total so far £710 been offering the service and cleaning since friday last week

thats work done and in the pipe line

best thing i could have done to boost my income

have six jobs booked in for the next rainny day which iam am told is going to be tomorrow

Never had a problem, have 110 v machine and once you get up and running and master different techniques the job is easier than climbing ladders and putting your life on the line for the sake of a few leaves.

i have started putting some flyers out but that will take time

the key question when talking to them is
when was the last time they were cleaned out and just take it from there

Let's hope you're not reading this while drinking a a cup of tea made using boiled water from an electric kettle in a cup washed in an electric dishwasher wearing a shirt washed in an electric washing machine ironed with an electric steam iron.  That would all be just too dangerous.

we have been using a gutter vac for 3 years now and not one problem or broken gutter in that time, its earnt us a fortune! and this year I have more booked in from my wc customer base than ever before! just got the new vac and upgraded the rest of the kit.

Going to be doing my own house this sat, in the mean time im going to write a quick letter to the other houses in my street telling them all about it and inviting them to come and see the system in use at my own house and to get a quote, I did the same thing a few years ago while jet washing my block pave driveway, I had a small crown gather to watch me and one of my team and from that booked nearly £3000 worth of work and got a few new wc customers at the same time!

Remember to think of your business as a business not just a job!

same here,  not had any problems with my gutter vac and been using it for over a year and its more than paid for itself,   in fact I have about EIGHT gutter jobs coming up and one I quoted last week for £230 has just been confirmed today so doing that next Tuesday.

its just like WFP   do the job right and you will have no complaints,   do the job like a pikey and cut loads of corners and you will soon get a bad name,  unfortunately the trade gets the bad name as well but thats the ups and downs of the job.

thankfully there are still lots of w/cs and gutter cleaners out there who take pride in their work.

Are you asking me? if so we charge by the type of property, semi/detached, how many bedrooms, and if they have a con or ground floor extension..... we have written listed prices for all the services we do

Yes I understand that it varies, but surely you have to go by the amount of guttering to be cleaned.
I know one guy charges £4.50 a metre.

no we dont, we do it just as i said, a printed price list is easy to do if you realise that 80% of everything we do as window cleaners is the same, 10% will be underpriced 10% will be over and the 80% will be spot on, dear oh dear im giving the secrets away for free today! lol
