Golf day
« on: November 14, 2010, 09:23:37 am »
I am toying with the idea of organising a golf day for fellow cc s.

I am fortunate to play at one of the better courses in the uk at saunton golf club located on the north devon coast. Both 18 courses at Saunton at positioned in the top 100 courses in the uk and the East course is also in the top 100 in the world  for more information

www.sauntongolf.co.uk

this day would be open to anyone with a club handicap and i am sure with enough people i can get a decent rate.

At this stage its just an idea and if your interested and would like to be kept informed drop me an email with contact details to info@pt-cleaningservices.co.uk

was thinking early spring next year

regards

Richard

Ah well that would be me barred.................as an ex Pro, I last had a handicap when I was 18 years old. Must be 20 years since I last played a round and being three and a half stone heavier my silky swing would, I'm sure have degenerated into a lunge.

The idea of a golf day is a good one for anyone living within 40 - 50 miles.

I used to play golf (badly) in the Kyles-of Lochalsh! I used to run the sport down as boring, but I really used to enjoy losing golf balls ;D

Not for me though, I'm trying to drum up a mountain biking holiday in Wales and a Salmon Fishing holidayup on the Cumbrian Derwent. The rest of my free time will be spent cleaning carpets hopefully :D

I would defo be up for it , but unfortunatly much to far for me to travel , just got back from a week in costa del sol golfing, and i wouldnt be wrong insaying the price for the week prob cheaper than having to go to cornwall and stay etc.

the idea has been toyed with before on ciu on a few occasions over the years, but nothing ever materielised due i reckon to the logistics.

Nice one Robert, I would prefer that to carpet cleaning for a living. What did yo win and how long were you pro?
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

I made as much teaching and selling equipment to members as many made on tournaments. I never became a tournament player, my back bothered me way back then and prevented me achieving anything as a player.
Have to say though, it's one of the best jobs in the world. Only played two rounds since I quit around 1980.
