hi guys
with thenights drawing on i wondered what responses you guys get if you door knock in th dark and do you price in the dark there and then if someones interested?
are customers wary or offhand when you canvass in dark (door knocking that is)
do any of you not bother to canvass in dark?

It's not ideal, but if you really need the work go for it, but take a good torch with you.
You can always call back in the daytime to give your price if necessary.

ITs definatley not the best.
I was speaking with Kev (Dr Windows) about this the other day.... Unless the area is well lit, theres a light on the porch etc then you will get next to nothing response wise as everyone who would usually open the door to you doesnt becuase its dark and they cant see you , resulting in blanking on more doors.
Price wise we just use a general price per house- terrace-semi-detatched etc...
As said to Kev , summer (when it gets lighter) is the best time to go canvessing , there will be a team of 3-5 out canvessing when it starts to get lighter - people arent less wary about answering the door gone 7pm because they can see you.

Nothing wrong IMO canvassing in the evenings this time of year. I used to and picked up plenty. Perhaps it depends, if you live or work in an 'undesirable' area you might get blanked. Be up front, apologise for disturbing them, dress well, shave, be polite; if they want a window cleaner theyll at least allow u the opportunity to give them a price.
