flyers , leaflets
« on: November 13, 2010, 09:26:15 am »
how many of you get flyers through yer door offering all manner of services from joiners, builders, roofers, painters etc?

Do you ever take them up on their services? i know i don't. I always go and use someone who is recommended to me.

I feel the majority of people think like this.

true or false?

Very limited interest if you just drop them through the door. We use them as something to hand over.

We were stupid enough to use a car mechanic who dropped a leaflet off and he was useless - will never use anyone who drops off a flyer again  ::)

do you buy off your door step?? i dont i hate people at the door being pushy. leaflets are good if you try hard, get out 5000 in a week or dont do it at all. 100 here 100 there makes you think they dont work  ;)

A regular comment from people who phone after my leaflet drops is "I've never responded to a leaflet before, but..."

If your message is arresting enough, people will call.

I agree with taylored and perfect winds.
100 here and there is no good.
1000 a day if you are just starting will get you going.
And make sure your leaflet is a good one!!!
YOU CAN BUILD A ROUND REAL QUICK if it is done right!!
 ;D
Good luck

Yes I agree to a point but those 2 new customers from 100 leaflets will bring in £360 per yr for me ;D

get your flyers - go to the roads you already do.

staple a small bit of card on the top - listing the house number you already do in that road.

and put them in the ones you dont do in  that road = more work through recommendations that you have pushed yourself (hope that makes sense).

that way your round is even more compact ....

as us brits seem to be followers you will get more work from doing this as for example mrs.a at no.22 gets your flyer on the door mat, sees you do mrs.b at 55 and mrs.c at 44 then mrs.a is bound to follow suit ...

My point exactly ant m8, post a few leaflets, get a few customers, build a round up that you can manage! I think 200 custies is a good goal to aim for, then go for more when you feel comfortable.

i remember shoving out my own  leaflets and struck lucky with about 20 new customers in  1 leaflet session of about 2 hours. boy was i sweating the next day doing these grotty windows - a fair few were 1offs AND in hindsight i shouldnt have done them  but others are still with me 2 years later . my leaflets were printed copies of a handwritten 1 liner +phone number

I started around this time last year and it may not be the best time to start because of the dark nights and the cold etc however, there is a number of WC's in every area that jack it in for winter. Therefore there is a load of potential custmers out there who feel they have been dropped for some reason in November. They get your flyer or knock in December and are chuffed to find you. The ones you pick up in Winrer will be real, year round customers. Some of the ones I picked up in Spring/Summer have asked me to leave it until the Spring. I know which customers i would prefer..
