What sort of digital setting should I be using on an office block clean?

Cheers

I would say flow setting No-2. I have the same pump & hose & use No-1 for most jobs & No-2 now & then on bigger or dirtier work. ;)

Oh, I use 2mm pencil jets though.

switch the vari-stream on, press and hold the+&- button at the same time for 2 seconds, the current pressure setting will be displayed.
I can remember when waking up stiff in the morning was a good thing.

That's the cut off pressure setting i.e. how much pressure will build up before the varistream cuts the pump out. It wont really affect the continuous flow. ;)

Mine's on 6 Mike. Works very well with my set up. When I unplug the pole hose, water flow stops after approx 4 seconds & starts again with no big gush when I plug it back in.

Do you know how to set this feature?

people used to say on here you need x amount of litres per minute (rather than a setting) wasn't it 2 litres per minute?

I don't think there is a set/ideal flow rate Chopsie. Everyone works slightly differently & have differing preferences & requirements.

I don't know what Mike's experience is, I'm just offering him a guide really. ;)

I've just installed the digital in the van over the weekend.

Have been using it on 2-3 mainly.  I haven't checked the cut off pressure setting yet but I have some instructions with it so will do that tomorrow.

Just used today on what was my first big commercial job and used a flow rate of 2 and 3.  Seemed to do the job.  It was a maintenance clean.

The digital varistream is a superb piece of kit, couldn't imagine working without one now. Constant, reliable flow no matter how high, or low your pole is. Just press the button & start working, leave it to do the rest! ;)

I normally set my pressure setting to the minimum required to run the pump without cycling on and off. Ie. with the flow valve fully open on my pole hose and a flow that I'm happy with I want the pump running constantly and not cutting in and out. Turn the flow valve off and the pump should stop after one or two short cycles.

Too much pressure and you run the risk of bursting hoses, blowing connectors and even damaging di vessels. Once you have the pressure setting correct then you can play with the flow rate without any further problems.

One thing I've never been able to figure out is why it can take so long to fire up the pump when the pole valve is opened initially  ???
Starts pretty quick mind, when I slide the pole back in the rack and accidentally knock the valve open  ::)

Forgot to say, I normally have my flow setting around 6 or 7 - probably because I'm using microbore which is 6mm I think.
