Windowlene and WFP
« on: November 06, 2010, 02:46:10 pm »
Picked up a new job this morning ... big house lots of new windows which have been cleaned by the glazers with windowlene.

Lady says full of streaks and asked would purified water de-smear them.

So working on the theory of yes and worry about it later I said it would  ;D

So my question is .... will it ???

It's going to get very wet inside!

i have done several brand new conny's where the glazers have 'cleaned' the glass and i have to say they are
usually problematic.

depending on what they used and how much silicone they have left behind will determine how much scrubbing you need to do, also some (if not all) fit the windows and use some sort of oil - this can run on the first clean as the water washes it out.

i have found lightly spraying with a mild tfr solution and giving everything a 'double rince' leaves it really good.
-but inspect well as silicone residue will require hand scrubbing/scraping

I've got a customer who has astro turf... His theory is that he never has to cut it... Thus saving him time and money... Also it looks nice all year round ;D
