Zipper Junior
« on: November 01, 2010, 08:10:55 pm »
Some of us may remember the Zipper that was on You Tube about 12 months ago.

Here is a video clip of the Zipper Junior - what the Junior stands for I dont know.

Thought it might be an interesting video.  I think it looks pretty good.

not a bad promotional video for the scorpion as well. Really show how the good the machine can work when set up correctly, nice to see he has realised that the thing missing from the scorpion  is heat, a problem he has corrected with the use of the little giant propane heater. might be worth showing this video on cleantalk who knows Nick might start importing them.

we really need someone to start importing little giant heaters

Ed Valentine already got it on Cleantalk, thats where I saw it but got it from You Tube for here.
Be interesting what price the Zipper Junior would be - the Zipper was about £2000 if I remember rightly - lot of money.

Its a very powerful heater - an inline heater with a bit more heat then what is available now over here.

The thing missing from the Airflex is heat as well.
and the Alltec can only have heat until you turn all 3 vacs on to do the job.
All showing the limitation of 2 electrical cords.

As far as I can gather Ed Valentine has always said the Scorpion is modular - ie add a pressure gauge if you want (did you spot it in the video), add a fouth vac motor if you want, add heat if you want it, add alloy wheels if you want (joking of course)

Hi Clinton
We must have a chin wag on the phone soon.
I am doing ok with hottish tap water, but I bet that system throws out some heat - and after the pump so no damage there, just like a truck mount works.

I like that style of video!

But was it just me or was that carpet not coming up that well?

Also, I dont rate that zipper junior... Looks very clunky! I'd have a rotovac, over the zipper as it looks like it does a better job.

You need more work out in the gym, Clinton.

As it sucks on the forward and backward strokes I dont think there should be much lifting. And its got wheels and glides.

It will be too dear, I have seen the link to zipper junior website and its about $2100, and we all know that will turn out to be £2100.
Now I know research and development can take a lot of time, and costs need to be recuperated, but £2100 is an awful lot.
For mingers day in day out maybe worthwhile.  I can see how it will leave carpets dryer then a standard wand, but the client will just have to wait an hour longer.  :)
