Winter blues

Hi, i know this topic has been discussed quite a lot in the last couple of weeks - about heaters. When should i use my heater (I like economising) - should I keep looking on the BBC website and when it says that at night time its going to be +2 degrees or lower, I should then only use it. I live in London, so it doesnt get that cold at night (guessing because of rain cover??) and dont want to waste loads of gas putting it on everyday.
Seperate issue - anyone recommend a good site to get kitted out in winter-time overalls to make the mornings warmer??
Cheers for everyones help

Generally , you can tell when its going to drop to freezing..,
Also you only need a clear night and a light frost , to freeze your pipes in the van, making you late for work.
I put a oil filled radiator in my van , on a timer switch,.... although its probably better leaving in on all night...on the lowest setting.
Clear skies at night is a big clue

Just check the weather forecast on a regular basis it's only at 0 or below when you need the heater on.
