Trad v Wfp 2010
« on: October 27, 2010, 08:14:08 pm »
Its been well used over the past few years,.... and when i first joined this forum,... the advice was , how to use a squeegie,..

which is the best bucket on a belt,

best wagtail

best blade ... and so on .

wfp was around and a few people would comment , and ask how it all worked,

some swore they would never use wfp ever.... and they are using it now.. lots in fact,

The Trad v Wfp debates always raised a laugh, and generally the trad guys would come out on top,...in a poll.

Then it started to change , and the debates became very heated,

But now i think wfp is acceptable to nearly all window cleaners,...i think

Now, in 2010, lets see who uses what.  ;)

to be honest the only people i see tradding now are working out of cars, in footy tops,  fair enough they are cheap and are able to undercut everyone,  they they sod off in the winter, i went knocking yesterday and picked up 12  and most had a trad cleaner who doesnt turn up in winter,

Here we go again..  ;)

Shouldn't it be WFP v Ladders?

As there is always a place for a squeegee (Traditional) on some jobs, but working from ladders is something I haven't done for years.

And why call people with wfp snobs?.....

We are all window cleaners, simply curious to see how things are changing,

Its not a " here we go again topic"....

Because i think the even argument that went on..... has long gone,... the debate no longer exists, .... It seems wfp has totally taken over and changed how we clean....

Still , in 2010 not 1999, i am curious to see how many trad guys are still out there.

In my area I'd say trad is minority amongst the full timers.
Most of the larger businesses are wfp.
I can think of 2 or 3 tradders, but there's quite a few smaller setups and beer money ones about.

The only problem with WFP, is that it has allowed people that get vertigo standing on a chair to become window cleaners.
Much more competition now.
