had to clean my sewerage drain today as was about to have the house flooded by it!

well the blockage ended up 2 doors down, i cleared it by hiring 2 sets of drain rods (£24 from brandonhire) took me 2 hrs in all, as i had to go back to the shop twice as there was bits missing, then give me the wrong replacements! im thinking a skilled drain cleaner would have had it sussed in 1 hr?

what i was thinking was, does anyone have this as an extra add on to their business?

either buying the equipment or hiring it?

is it worth the time, hassle, poo, smell? or is the pay check good enough?

i did watch grime fighters doing it, and that put me off a bit, as your bound to get poo/dirty water on your clothes, hands etc, as i found out

You can buy attachments for pressure washers, I have one at 10m long and one at 20m long, you simply connect it to your lance, put one end into the drain, pull the trigger on your lance and it pulls itself into the drain. It works a treat, stinks, and all kinds of stuff come up, but I am sure you could charge a lot for offering this service

to be honest it would have been quicker to just use a rod, plus it would be a cheaper outlay.

as in damaging what? drains arent made out of plastercine  :

what do you think drain cleaning companies use?

then again i did see grimebusters where the actual drain had collapsed, even the council were panicking
and theyre the pros at it!

i spose if that happended to you, you would have to just say you cant fix it and pass it on to the water board?

the water board did say to me they would fix my problem for free, but would take up to 24hrs to arrive, so i just did it myself.

well i deal with drains cesspits septic tanks every day.......where there is muck there is money believe me.....everyone has same attitude as u.......a bit of poo dont hurt anyone
