RO Filter waste water
«

Got my RO filter making its first 200 litres and Im on a water meter. I clocked the reading before I turned the filter on and to make 200 litres of 000 tds water its used about 800 litres!! Is this normal? Is there anything you can do to reduce the waste. The system is from John Hewitt, 100gpd with booster pump and my tap tds is 220?

4:1 is about right,.. add more membranes & you'll reduce the waste ratio a lot.

I am no expert but Pure Freedom told me that a booster pump reduces water. I am not on a meter so never checked it.

that ro unit youve got martin is not good enough for you while your on a meter its going to cost you loads to produce water , you need extra membranes and a extra pre filter , i take it the type youve bought is the 1 with 2 pre filters 1 membrane and di . if youve still got my number give me a ring you are just wasting money at the moment .
