car valeters - cuury stain removal
« on: September 22, 2005, 11:17:29 am »
Does anyone know of a tried and tested method for
removing a curry stain(tumeric?) for a leather car seat?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello

As tumeric is a dye you now have a problem with dye transfer.  This is a technical probelm rather than a cleaning problem. You would be wise first to try products which will remove dye transfer.  Maxi Cleaner is a strong detergent cleaner which works very successfully on car leathers.  The next stage would be alcohol cleaner and after that Remover 1.  However by this stage you will have to be prepared to possibly re-colour or re-finish.  If these products do not fully remove the dye then the only recourse will be to re-colour the area with pigment touch up colour.

Hope this helps
