hi guys just lookingh to get a bit of wisdom on a job ive priced - its regular customer and who has large conny inside is bigger than the average lounge and the ceiling is high owing to a large apex. i have quoted 25 quid for inside feel a little nervous coz doing a upvc clean on it soon - using a trade upvc heavy duty cleaner and apply with white tork tissue and rinse and wipe off after with clean water and dry off. so not sure how long im guessing a couple of hours tops - because of other work and the fear of losing  :(the job by charging anymore ive quoted the 25 quid.

inside 12ft by 9 ft conny approx to clean upvc ceiling arms and perspex roof from inside 25 quid plus anotyher 10 quid for windows - trying to get a feel for pricing coz im trying to aim a little higher  : with pricing becasue i know i work hard do a good job and often feel im underpriced time wise and the end product.

am i anywhere near what is a fair and average price - souther area but wlecome feedback from anywhere.

Sounds like you have underpriced that one to me. Sounds like 2/3 hrs work. I'd be looking more to the £50-£75 mark.

If its been smoked in I reccomend a jml product called Doktor power (asda / foucs sell it). Rub in to upvc and wipe off.

If its not bad, then I use furniture polish wipes from the pound shop and wipe off with a dry cloth.

Don't do it when the sun is over the conny, the heat will slow you right down

if inside A conserv, i first off check for smoking, makes All the difference .  if the plastic is any other shade than brilliant white, ie yellowey brown ,,,  DOUBLE/TREBLE the price you had in mind or walk away . i have found those yellowey jobs to be HELL-ON-EARTH

Inside of a roof is very hard work. The water drips and comes of black. Very hard on the arms. 12*9 isn't huge but I should say can I do it for 50minimum. Be very apologetic and explain how long it will take.

Trust me. Although, if you haven't got much on, you may as well get 25 as do nothing.

i always quote inside conny cleans as tho i dont want them, as already said, if smoked in, walk away.

i always quote them double than outside, and my minimum outside is £125!!!

and oh hell - yeah its yellow brown smoke on upper strutts inside...this is going to be interesting or painful

I can make conservatory insides that have been smoked in look mint again and easy wiping. I use the same stuff on outside gutters (diluted). In fact there isn`t much i  havn`t cleaned with it.Was valeting cars once and discovered it. Nicotine stained car roof linings,wipe on and a good wipe off(clean damp microfibre).

Concept Chemicals  Mastercleaner.(theres a website for stockists)

I get it from A & E AUTOCOLOURS YORK.

Wear gloves.

Taking it steady with this stuff and good access(never get that in a bloody conservatory,its like they have conspired against you),and rub the glass with it before applicator and squeegee, about an hour and a half,dragged out to 2 and a half hours with cups of tea to justify the £55 price.

I guarantee you will get 30% through the job, it will be taking ages, and you'll feel like just giving up and going home... Been there, done that

I dont mind nicotine cleaning from con roofs - I quite enjoy it really. It always looks much better when you have finished, but you have to price it well!

Well yeah i would like to charge more but am probably afraid to ask more,no drips with microfibre and mastercleaner though, just a wipe,its like dusting the top of a sideboard with a damp rag or very close to being as easy as that.

Can`t find the mastercleaner,must be discontinued,yet i got some this year 2x 5litres,equivalent seems to be either the stuff called Wizard(5 litres),listed under interior cleaning as it mentions fast nicotine stain removal or possibly the  Muskateer which is listed in exterior and interior cleaning,the latter coming in 5litres and 25 litres.Am going to send them an e-mail and clarify which is the equivalent of the mastercleaner.

I lied,its there,

Concept products-exterior cleaning-manual use exterior cleaning- 6th picture down.

                          -interior cleaning-plastic,wood,leather,fabric-16th picture down.

The pdf documents give all the diluting details,ph etc. Its a strong alkali which is why i always wipe it off but have done no damage with it yet and it appears to have a slightly bleaching effect so is good news on white pvc.

If you use it without gloves it seemingly does no harm until about a day later when all your skin dries out and starts crumbling off,another reason i like it as i feel it has to be doing its job.

okay this is the result

(except the size was actually 18ft by 12 ft big diff to what i put orginally)
i hang my head in shame no just because im knackered ( i postponed 2 jobs today for tomoroow)

started today at 9.30am finished at 3.15pm after a total of half an hour in breaks - wasnt aware of of suggrssted products in threads here at time. ha da solvent cleaner but it did no better than eco so used eco which was briliiant at removing nicotine from window frames but didnt whiten the ceiling strutts and arms -

reckon i spent 2 hours just moving furniture around and re-positioning ladder - my hair was soaking wet  with sweat and despite an unperfect white finish on ceiling arms the windows cleaned and the frames cleaned (frames lovely and white i was happy with job and customer said they were really happy (i bet they were 25 quid, whats the min wage these days!,lol) GUESS WHAT NO TIP - GUTTED and insulted really - thankfully ive priced thier window cleans quite well.

 lovely people but whilst i shoudnt expect a tip, on this occasion i thought perhaps I would considering the result and effort and time.
