Sprayer

Good one for sale on e bay.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-IK-9-SPRAYER-CARPET-UPHOLSTERY-CLEANING-/200308288077?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2ea34dea4d#ht_1233wt_905

I have one of these but w/o the upholstery applicator and they don't half
lay the pre spray down.
Also a Rotovac for sale will get the page number in a minute.

I bought one of these sprayers at great cost and its not great. The sliding shaft is fragile and it bent very quickly.

They are good sprayers but John's point is a valid one.

As I recall, John's company sells an improved version of the sprayer to include more sturdy, brass fittings, for use within the CC industry.,

The only issue I've had with the plunger being when the vent became stuck between coats, whilst to being used for spraying acrylic sealer. This in turn caused the rubber bung / seal at the bottom of the plunger to blow due to a build up of too much pressure. This was replaced at no cost by Solosprayers. They are a good supplier and can be trusted to offer good advice and back-up.

Yes you are spot on guys, i had two of this type of sprayer the handle sheared off both of them within a year.
The company that supply these also supply metal sprayers like the Gloria i have one of these now and its much better quality cost £150

Probabley better going for a better quality one as the lance being fridgile will cause some sort of problems down the line..

Never had a problem with the lance.
The only fault I find is the the hose enters the bottle
at the bottom rather than the top and so gets a bit
of knocking about.
Have replaced hose twice in 18 months so no big deal.
When pumping it up don't bring the plunger all the way
to the top of it's stroke and strike the top.
Also got a Watchman and there pretty good too.

I use Ik9 too and the Tango ones from restoremate, good little sprayers for the cost.

I got 1 of those and a solvent proof hand pump(!) hand pump went wrong because the solvent took all of the lubrication of  the tube where you pump it and the seal ring has come off in the tube, it gathering dust in the shed, should really get on to them.

Regarding the bigger one the bayonet fastener on the top sheared off because it would sometimes 'drop' if I hadnt secured it properly. The problem in my view is that the pipe bore is too narrow, so despite what JandS say it doesnt put the spray down, you would be better off with a Gloria as it has a larger bore pipe and correct size and pattern nozzles, so therefore puts more spray down and therefore makes for a quicker job.

I have hotel maintenance cleans in access areas and I find this plastic sprayer is not up to the job and will replace it with Gloria.

They are cheap and cheerful. You gets what you pays for as usual.

There you go then.
Wouldn't call £80 for a sprayer cheap.

I've had an Orion for over 6 months now, *8 months i think) and without a problem! I think they are well built. I find it hard to beleive that you can break the handle by simple pumping... And mines gets heavy usage pretty much everyday and i'm no weakling.

Fair enough, you might need to change the seals and washers once in a while but they are cheap enough.

I hope he's not dragging the heads of that rotovac around on that ground. The heads on mine are treated like babies. He should be unscrewing those and showing his potential client the business ends. I rarely use my rotovac, i find the stairtool wand with the steamer is much better. The Rotovac is great for massive hotel commonareas but with all of the hotels in receiver ship in Ireland carpet cleaning is the last thing on the list. The Rotovac is heavy too, the ad with guy holding the cup of tea is completely misleading. Great yolk though if the work is there.

Just bought a stainless steel/ brass sprayer off ebay - arrived today.  Haven't used it yet but well built and comes with lance and upholstery gun.  Nice piece of kit.
