If you want a hot system then have a look at Pure Freedoms if you get the chance. I was up there yesterday and if I had the money I would have bought one. Beautifully put together and very professionally built.

hi all

sorry to ask the same questions but im realy thinking about getting a hot system so whati want to know of the experts that use them is

are the realy worth the extra investment
It really depends how much you invest. Some DIY systems cost about £200,.. some beand name ones cost £7k. There are also the running costs to consider

are the that much better than cold
I think so,.. especially on first cleans & conservatory work

are customers more impressed that your using hot water instead of cold
Many of my customers have commented on it,.. in fact I was told that the local splash & dash guy "needs to get hot water because the results with cold are rubbish". You can clean just as well with cold, but the fact that it sets me above the competition in the customers mind has won me jobs i'm sure.

are they better for shop fronts and conserverty roofs
Quicker yes,.. better is a tough question because given a bit more time cold will do the same quality of work on all but the worst dirt

and are the exspensive to run
About £1.50 - £2 per day for gas,.. £4 or £5 for diesel. If you have a seperate diesel tank for the heater you can use green fuel which cuts costs a lot.

sorry so many questions but i just carnt decide what to do

thanks

nathanael thanks for your reply much appreciated

ewan yes im going to try but after running my cleaning company for a few years now i stareted out just doing carpets and upholstery then set up a window cleaning van and pressure washing

allways used a truck mount for the carpets but only cold for windows and pressure washing since changed my pressure washer for a 3000psi hot washer its much much beter than the cold system so i personnaly think hot is much beter for cleaning but just wanted to know if it was the same for wfp window cleaning

looks like i might be spending some money tomorrow

Nathanael,

sorry this maybe a silly question :D

but in tempretures 0c and minus is the hot water system still working.

I thought hot wate freezes quicker than cold, so will water freeze on the glass?

Also is the a danger of cracking glass due to temp differences between glass and water?

thanks lee

i have the purefreedom hot system , i dont use it on all jobs but when i do use it then it makes a big difference its brilliant for first cleans and long interval between cleans, also brilliant on properties where there are lots of snail trails but my main use for it is removing egg from windows as we do a lot of student accomodation and i think they think it is part of their course work to throw egg on windows,
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

Nathanael,

Its not a miracle solution,.. in sub zero temps it will work, but you still get slowed down by road conditions & having to salt footpaths etc before you work. I did work a few days last winter where I wouldn't have been able to with a cold system, so it does help earn a bit more in the winter

I thought hot wate freezes quicker than cold, so will water freeze on the glass?
I've only had it happen once when cleaning an unheated commercial premesis,... I just kept going & the hot water melted the ice that had formed & I managed to clean away. It did take twice as long as normal cleaning, so I'm glad it doesn't happen a lot!

Also is the a danger of cracking glass due to temp differences between glass and water?
It is always a danger. It has never happened to me, but I am very careful in the winter & turn the heat right down. I think the rule of thumb is no more than 20 degrees above ambient.

thanks lee

I could do with it for cleaning schools that are only done every 4 months cold water doesnt cut it
