How much to clean this?
« on: October 04, 2010, 04:51:36 pm »
Hi all

I need to quote to clean this. The racking will be in place but the stock will be removed on the day of the clean. I have a 24' pressure washer lance, so that's OK. I'll soap up first with TFR and then pressure wash off. It's bound to be a bit fiddly and the top is going to be a bit of a stretch (I may have to WFP it). Needs doing once a year. This is just part of a larger quote (which i'm happy with putting together). It's roughly 35 metres long and 10metres high.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers

Carl

2 - 3 hours work max, so say roughly around the £100 mark?

if its worse than the pic looks then go up a bit more...

Don't bother with the pressure washer & extendng lance - that will stripe it and you will need to do it again.

Go straight in with WFP and pure water.

Charge a day rate and then you can take your time and do a good job with no pressure.  I agree that it should only take a couple of hours but it is easy to go in with a cheap price and end up regretting it because the price is low.

Agree with the above - pressure washer would give a rubbish result.

to WFP that would be around an hour and a half so quote for 2 hours.

Somewhere around the £200 mark max. The racking will be a bit of a pain though. Definitely go wfp but if there is a tap close by I would connect upto that rather than using your pure water. Much better pressure and flow with the tap.

i have found a perfect way to clean a job like this quickly and effectively.

I use a tfr and water mix through my pump. one or two sweeps and it will be gone. then i plug on just my pure water for a final rinse. i cleaned 40 square metres of the greenest cladding you can imagine and charged a hundred and 20 pound. the customer was over the moon and i was a nickle and a bit in front ;)

oh and it only took me 40 minutes to do ;)

Thanks all for your comments. I'm going to quote £300 if racking is left in place, £200 if it's gone. I'll have to do it on a Sunday, so hence the slightly higher price. Cheers again.

I have just done a job like it today. Brand new cladding, so just removing builders marks such as foot prints.

Job was same height as the one in the pic but perhaps 5 times the length including 3 roller doors and 4 sets of windows
It took 4 hours.

I recon I could do the one in your pic in about an hour using tfr in a spay and wfp. add half hour if the racking is left. (but racks would need to be emptied obviously)
