« on: October 03, 2010, 07:49:43 pm »
Hi, Where is the best place to buy vacuum hose from?

There is a guy selling lots of carpet cleaning spares on ebay, has anybody tried his hoses?

I wouldnt use them again. I bought a wand from them about 4 - 5 months ago, one of the filters was faulty, tried usual stuff by soaking in de-scaler etc, explained the problem and requested a replacement filter, but was asked to package and return the whole wand????

Yea, same thing then it stopped working altogether, only used it 4 times, dealt with a guy called scott, shocking customer service, why he couldnt just send out a new filter I dont know? took ages to get replys from him. Think he's just some fly by night selling a few bits and bob's on Ebay. IMO avoid at all costs!

Same as all suppliers, good and bad stories.

I bought a glide from them, waited a while, nothing received, chased them up, they claimed to have sent, still nothing received after three weeks or so, chased some more, they dispatched another, eventually received a glide. Not sure on the quality either as it started shredding on first use (catching on gripper rods). Took it off and haven't used since.

Had a hose connector from them, arrived really quickly, very good value and quality.

I have bought more then a few products from Scott now and have had no problem.
This includes a glide which i have used every job since I have fitted it. Yes its worn at the edges where it catches carpet grippers, but so is my original one that cost me much more (but still useable(. You have to be careful with the glide like you do with any tool.
I have bought 50' of solution hose but not had chance to use yet.
I have QD male and female which I have fitted to replace worn units on my gear - working very well.
I have bought new jets for my wand - ok as well.
and a tool I like - an inline filter which normally cost about £160 for a real bargain price of half that.

Very quick delivery, well packed, VAT and postage is normally included in his prices, making a good buy.
Not really had chance to test after sales service because its not been required. Good enough for me.

solution line splitter seals went within a couple of months, still usable if you leave a line plugged in but leaks if not.
as the old maxim goes, buy cheap, buy twice. aint that right shaunus?

Speaking of Shaun'us', Derek - see he has changed his epitaph to 'Honest as the day is long'.      Trouble is - the days are getting dramatically shorter this time of year.  Should I be reading something into that :-\ ;) ;)

Hi John

Just checked out the spec of the Steempro 2000 and it reads its got a single vac motor 3-stage.

Thats probably why the pool hoose is ok with your machine. Put it on a triple vac motor, or maybe even a twin vac, and I reckon the hose would collapse due to suction.
A good link tho for those with a single vac machine.

hi just checked the exact specs on my machine it's powermax sx2100 which has a 2x 3 stage vacuum and a 135psi pump and works just fine ,it's struggling with one vacuum but with 2 it's ok
