Just a question as i havent used one, but i was thinking the other day...i have fitted a tap on top of my brush so i can flick it off easily enough. Not sure ive noticed a huge saving in water

Now the aqua adapter, I can see it saving a bit of water, but i think, when you flick the water off like this, the huge amount of presure you get when it comes back on surely isnt actually saving that much more than when leaving it on.

Tell me other wise  Does it have the pressure build up im imaging...im not slating the product, im generally interested.

I have to say that this is without doubt the best WFP gadget to come out for a long time. Because you switch the water on at the window and switch it off at the window, I have noticed a definite water saving and I am not bending down to pick the tap up off the ground to switch it off. (I did start to put the tap around my neck for easier access but get very wet as the couplings are never totally water tight.)
By pulling the hose you get an on and an off. You can regulate the flow at the adaptor on the occassions you need to reduce the flow to a trickle.

But I have perceivered with the hose its supplied with and I just cant get on with it. It keeps getting knotted up with itself and the main hose. Drives me nuts - promised I would put the Gardiner stuff back on and try that today.
Others like the hose so I don't know why I don't.

Does sound good yes...i can also adjust flow at brush if needed with little tap.

Can you confirm there is a pressure build up when you turn it back on?

Wasnt trying to help save water just relieve the pressure, if the pressure is still too much you may need a larger hose going back to tank and a smaller one up the pole , its about balance and needs to be played with ?

Have triggers on my poles save loads of water no reaching twisting hose.I just take my hand off the trigger to stop and hold it down to start.works perfect.looks the part too.

Do you not have a digital varistream matt? These can be set up to cut the pump off as soon as you like, within reason as it reacts to pressure. When I unplug my pole the pump cuts out just a couple of seconds after, not allowing a huge pressure build up. When I plug back in the flow just continues as normal without a huge burst.

Yeah, mine works like that too. I have the varistream on 2 or 3.

What I like about have a tap on the pole is you can still control the flow, ie you can have the water on a trickle when scrubbing the window and turn up the flow to rinse off.

To be honest, thats the only thing putting me off of buying an Aquadapter.

yes there is as the pump builds up pressure until (in my case) the varistream cuts it off. The minibore hose also swells fractionally so this excess pressure needs to dissipate. But I don't find that an issue as I pull the water supply hose to switch the flow on when the brush is resting on the window sill or side frame. It takes a few moments for the varistream to react and start the pump again anyway, so I have a 'reservoir' to work with.

Not sure who you are on our Customer List (unless you've bought through a distributor)?  If you contact us by email, I'd like to discuss how you've got on with the hose.

There isn't a reason I can think of not to have an inline tap and use that to vary the flow?  Ways to regulate the flow using the Aqua-dapter have been considered but they would complicate things.  One pull for on, one pull for off, is the fastest way of working with it.

Also as Spruce mentioned, you can turn the tap with your fingers to reduce the flow that way too (best for downstairs windows really if you're still going to save water).

Hi All

I have resurrected this topic as I have had an issue with using the aqua adaptor hose. Here is an update.

Having spoken with Joeuk45 and done a self analysis I have discovered that the issue with the hose was due to an application issue on my part. It had to be as Joeuk45 believes the hose was the best he had used.

If there is anyone out there also experiencing tangling issues with their hose at the base of your pole, the answer is to uncoil it first and lay it straight on the ground and then couple it to your supply hose. I have never done this as the Gardiner pole hose was always quite flexible and uncoils itself from the ground as I extend the pole. It only takes a few seconds but saves a lot of frustration.

I have religiously done this everytime this week and have been tangle free - so again, thank you to Aqua Adaptor for what I can only describe as the best gadget for WFP application ever.
