my dad spend 30k on radio advertising for his business. he said he might as well of sat in his garden and set light to that amount of money instead as it was a waste of time. he wern't in our industry though.

How much have you been quoted as i know round here it costs in the region of 3k for a minimum amount of air time. not many repeats through the day etc. can't remeber how much exactly

my mate owns a chippy,he avertised on local radio,he advertised mon-wed-fri- for one week at seven adds per day ,t cost him£600 quid. it works for these companies selling windows/conservatories,new baths/kitchens ect becaus they only need one sale a month to pay for it,personaly i think it,s a non starter for window cleaners....

waste of time, put the money into mags, leaflets, canvassers, billboards at shops or something

Sorry guys i cant give too much away at the moment but I have a good idear for next year that will involve radio advertising combined with our new web site which is being designed at the moment. Just wondered who had done it.

I have done it and it worked okish, I will have got my money back and more in 6-8 months after advertising. Mine was a very local station though, probably a 10-15 mile radius (at most) It cost me £82 for a 4 week run in Febuary and £72 for a 2 week run in May I think (those figures might be a pound or so out). Did not get as much as I had hoped but apparently you have to be on a while for people to let it sink in.

We did it god what a waste of money

Don't don't don't do it

It sounds like a great idea and we fell for it spent thousands and got three phone calls take Sean's advice and spend it on other means or better still put it on a horse and it will still be a better investment than radio
