4, 8 & 12 weekly intervals
« on: September 15, 2010, 07:30:01 am »
hello fellow shiners

ok, most of my work id say 95% is 4 weekly interval cleans, and another 3 or 4% is 8 weekly, now that leaves the 1 or 2% that are 12 weekly!

After reading alot on here i see some w.cer's dont like or do 12 weekly some do it and some do it but charge as a one off clean!

I'd like to get some kind of difinative answer on the topic because at the moment my 12 weekly customers are not priced any different than my 8 weekly's and now im starting to to feel like a fool! lol

i know there was recently a topic on 4 & 8 weekly pricing structures and note, this is a different subject!

regards, G.B

GB - what sort of answer are you after.

if you have 2 identical houses one you clean 4 wky the other 12 wky would/should you charge the same.

well that is really upto you and how you want to run your business.

we charge on a sliding scale dependant on how often they want our service and as a general rule of
thumb a 12 wky clean would be the same as a first clean price.

hope this helps you

My ratio is about the same as yours mate. But because percentage is quite low I'm happy to charge same price.

On the other hand why shouldn't you charge the same? Its still the same house, same windows, same everything.

Hi Vince - without going over the same ground as the other thread, yes their should be a difference in price.

4 wky  would get a maintance cleaning price ( say £10 )
12 wky would have an intensive clean price ( say £20 )

I don`t think there is one. We`re all different and so are our customers.
 Sorry if that doesn`t help.

most of my custies are 4 weekly maintenance cleans with a few well priced 2 monthlies and a few 6 weeklies!

i have none 12 weekly at present but i might have a 26 weekly(twice a year)soon!its a old church and yes it will be priced higher than if i cleaned it more regular!!

at the end of the day its your business you can charge what you want!if you dont want to charge extra for longer frequency cleans then so be it!i sometimes charge extra if they want 2 monthly, sometimes not depending on how much longer theyll take to clean.

make no mistake a 12 weekly WILL take longer than i regular maintenance 4 weekly.why the big debate?

i actively seek bigger jobs on longer frequencies as you can charge more so you make more money.simple!!(if your already pretty full with work)

we offer the choice from the start of 6 and 12 weekly, the 6 week price is the true price for the house, the 12 week price is 35% more which is still cheaper over a year for the customer but compensates us. each day about 1/4 of our work is a 12 weeker which makes for a nice daily turnover.

Again, not wishing to rake up the bunfight if you can charge more and keep your customers happy then I'd suggest it's a good idea.  If your customers are keen on price, you might lose more than you'd gain.  If not, you'll be making more.

In my experience they are happy with the reasoning I give them, namely that a 6 weekly (basic period in my case) keeps the windows clean, when it gets to 12 weekly, I'm having to clean off dirt, so they have to pay for that.  Regardless of what we think about that argument, my customers are happy with it.

i offer only 4 or 8 weekly, if people ask for 12 weekly which has only happened a couple of times in 4 years i say no longest interval i do is 8 weekly and i just tell them to ring me when they want it doing and i will do it as a one off,

dont really see the point in 12 weekly windows are dirty by 8 weeks and being cleaned only 4 times a year you would need a large customer base to keep yourself busy,

i charge extra for 8 weekly over 4 say a 12 quid house goes to 14 and a 15 house goes to 20 etc

only time i would take a longer interval would be with a commercial job, i do one and its a large place every 6 months but they wanted that and i get paid handsome for it but for a 15 quid domestic no chance
