Anyone on here do it? I know one cleaner who claims to clean to this height, does anyone else do it?

I have nine S2 base sections and then a 35 foot Superlight pole but I've never tried to put them all together.

Yes but I put a scouring pad on the end to get cement off, the glass resembles a perspex bus shelter afterwards, looks great!

Sounds to high for me id want a cherry picker for that height,
dont know how youd be on insurance or H & S at that height either

I've heard that metal scouring pads are best for builders cleans.

My highest so far has been around fifty feet, the thought of doubling that I find amazing.

may be doable in no wind --- anything over 5mph and i think you will struggle to control it moving round the building lol
i do 60 ft and thats hard in any sort of wind ..

My highest is approaching 45', no way would I want to consider 100', ridiculous to think its feasible surely.

My max work height has also been 60ft and I tell you I did not enjoy that job at all!!

100ft    To be honest I think working at that height from the ground with wfp is an accident waiting to happen!

I have been to 88ft,

At that height you are at the extreme of controlability, and can only be acheived in a sheltered area.

anythin above that and the pole will be flat against the building and the brush will barely touch the window.

Even at 80ft you will have to pull back on the pole keep it off the building.

There is a good reason why Ionics etc only build poles up to 65 ft, its not the danger aspect it is the stifness which becomes a problem at heights beyond that.

Could you not have a guy on top of the building with a cord down to the neck of the pole so that he directs it and takes some of the weight? If he has a harness and whatknot?

Mind you 35ft is my limit!

i have been to 80 ft with the supa lite but would not like to go much higher, in ionics new brochure they are about to bring out an 80ft pole if it is a pole with clamps then i think the weight will make it have way to much flex but we will have to wait to see.

That's how Jeff did his job I believe. I think Tucker recommends three people for anything over 60' lol. I think they actually advised the exact same thing Jeff did, have somebody at the top tie a rope to the brush.

Well, the guy advertises the fact that he cleans windows at 100 feet with carbon poles on his website so it must be true.  :

Must need his head examined doing 100ft. 63ft was too high for my liking for comfort and safety.

just wondering.... the main reason wfp cleaners give is safety for doing the job this way.. 100 feet and the wind blows or you cant keep controll of the pole then this is a  health and safety joke doing far more damage than a set of ladders.

It's all been covered before, pretty stupid IMO. One safecontractor accredited company & apparent upcoming face of the industry compromising employee safety then bragging about it on an open forum for all to see! : :

  ionics are bringing an 80ft pole out and i am sure they would have looked at the health and safety side before doing so, any risks from using a pole this size can be catered for ie tie lines to another operative from brush head and areas cordoned of to prevent pedestrian access also only using it in correct weather conditions so yes it can be stupid to use a pole this length but if the correct precautions are taken by an experienced person then i feel it is perfectly safe.

Ionics's will then be fit for purpose & recommended for use at such height. Gardiners however are not.

Stick a few extra lengths on, go beyond the manufacturers recommendations, give it to an employee & take the chance! It's your choice.
