Try a solvent, like Prochems Citrus Gel. Liberal squirt over the area, gentle rub in with bottle base. Leave for 5 minutes flush out with extraction solution. If improved but not all gone, repeat.

Where have you been hiding Dave? I'm still waiting for your TM, hope you're looking after it!

Could be from where the dogs have been laying on the rugs, and transfered greasy/oily marks.
Try prochems solvo spotter or citrus gel.

Careful if its chinese as they have a habit of 'haloing' around the stain using certain stain removers.

they are tuffted. i think i have solved the problem (the customer is happy anyway!) the stains were from a chicken Korma a few years back and although i did not completely remove them they are considerably reduced. i actually got a hair dryer on to dry the 'stains', i think the problem was the water i had put in to get rid of the stains took an eternity to dry, even being outside in the sun half of the day and then inside at night with a air mover on!! once completely dry they blended in with the rest of the rug. thanks all

You need to post photos...it's impossible to give rug advice without seeing the problem.
Thanks!!!
