I find them just fine.
When I want to wash some pads, I just soak them in a bucket of de-ionised water for a while, rub them together to hopefully get some dirt out of them, then leave them to dry in the airing cupboard.
I've used them a few times now.  Sometimes it can be a bit fiddly getting the pad on the very edge of the glass.  Therefore, I try not to spray the water to the very edge or it might show up.  Another tip is to be very sparing with the water.  Just a couple of tips though you may find it different.

They are great for high big glass entrance doors on offices that you can't reach with a ladder etc, spray with pure water wipe off with pole/pad, go over with another dry one, finish edges/handles with scrim.
