Problems with ro system, can anyone help?

I'm new to window cleaning, and have just set up my new vyair ro system (VYR-RO1/RO2N). The filtered water is coming out very slowly, it's trickling out and taken about 2 hours to fill up half of my first barrel. Is this normal? Does it take a long time? I seem to have more water coming out the drainage pipe. I have also installed the pressure tank that goes with this, but I don't have a clue what I need that for?? If anyone could shed any light on any of this I'd be grateful.

It could be pressure, thats where you will have to start. What pre-filters have you got? If the particle filter is blocked that can kill your pressure. Always use 5 micron and change it regularly. a 1 micron filter can block up in days.

Looking at the RO you have on the Vyair website it seems that the particular one you have won't produce water quickly. Although it does have a pump it only has one membrane which will mean you will have a high waste water ratio to pure water.
I would contact Vyair and ask them if its possible for you to add a bigger membrane or add another membrane which will be fed off the waste water from the 1st membrane. This will definately produce more pure water faster for you if it can be done.
I use a Vyair 400 gallon pumped RO system, and I think that is more suitable for window cleaning than the one you currently have.
