Wfp in Wakefield Yorks
« on: August 26, 2010, 08:22:34 am »
I've just come back from holidaying in Majorca for 10 days. But there was this bloke in our Hotel from Wakefield. He was telling me that his wc only charged £4.50 for his 10 windows. I told him where I live price would be about a tenner.
My question is to wcs in Wakefield How do you make a living charging so little???

he`l be making more than min wage i guess, alot of w/c arnt business oriantated but they might still make just enough to pay the bills, but who wants to live with nothing when this job offers more potential than earning so little.

Don't forget most Northern window cleaners are professionals, they are not like the bands of Muppets operating down South who don't really have a clue ;D(I don't actually mean all of you on here) Which means they work faster and more efficiently, and some may not charge as much as they should, maybe the guy in the hotel was having his windows cleaned by a dole dosser?

I can't wait for your reactions to this post!
At least it will give you something to do today.
Happy moaning and spitting back!

The cost of living in Wakefield is very cheap like Whippit food,  flat caps and bicycle tryres !

The biggest expense is feeding the horse and occasionally having to buy new wooden wheel for the cart where they can fall off due to the cobbled roads !

Im not from Wakefield  ;D Honest
But it does make you think, that does sound very cheap
Although if the round is very compact I can see how it is possible to charge a bit less.
I was talking to a wc in my area today, he has been in the game 20 years.
I found out he is charging about 50% less than me  :o
He is trad, and does a great job, all his work is very compact.
