Footing ladders
« on: August 25, 2010, 06:06:37 pm »
Does anyone here work for organisations that insist the work is done using ladders and they pay for an extra body to foot the ladder?

we clean a big old house that has been converted into 20 apartments they insisted on trad cleaning and as a lot of the windows are three story we told them that the price would have to include people footing ladders, they were fine about paying extra
Thanks,

No, most organisations understand building control and legislation, would have a written job method statement and full job risk assesment, I know they will be exceptions and not turning it into a previous post, but most , not all organisations will be street wise.

For the millionth time,.. ladders are RESTRICTED (eg banned :) ) If you can practicably do it with a pole the you're breaking the law doing it from ladders. Simples.

Save your life, etc etc,...

Whats the question for, can you please explain ?
we have probably worked out, you qouted for a job, they have moaned you are not footing ladder, then you want to know if you can charge extra for the person to foot the ladder.

Am I right ?

Ive been asked to quote for a job, where they have stipulated they are prepared to pay for a body to foot a ladder as the glass needs cleaning manually.
