« on: August 20, 2010, 03:40:44 pm »
it desperately needs this besause guys are given info/help on stuff that they simply dont have a bloody clue about! wrong advice ....

newbies giving bad advice to others ...

talking about a bit of kit or something and it just gets full of crappy wc saying oh i wouldnt pay that ....
needs a experienced section or a small & big company section.

Not sure that would work martin!

What do you class as experienced?

The reason i say this is because i know of cleaners who have been cleaning 15/20 years got all the latest stuff but are stuck on their own little ways, some will say this is better some will say this way is better each will work in a way they feel suits them! and each will like different products.

You would have to have a sub section within this bit as there is general on the home page.

I think it would be a good idea to have a before you "contemplate" maybe a sticky (is that what its called?)

Capital needed
Market research
Marketing your business
Managing your cash flow
Expansion

etc etc.

Not sure how that would work though with regards to amalgamating into how the forum is currently set up

hmmm its a dificult one. as you see we all have a rating, clean it up god and all that, I think that should be decided not by how many posts you write but whether you know what your talking about or something like that
The best way to predict the future is to create it.

Think Lee probably could be based on tried and tested methods.

I know nothing about the industry only based on how methodical research applies to any business that you set up.  It has to follow a pattern.

Capital investment etc etc
Next stage, next stage

Difficult one

But I see some guys on here who I would class as experienced in the trade give advice to people that makes me cringe, or tell them to buy certain items that are crap so I really don't think separate sections will help, just respond to posts you believe you can help on and ignore the rest.....

Problem isn’t the forum, its people. That’s never going to change, like Window Washers mentioned it's half the fun or funstration.

Yes i agree with ww too.

And if i was starting that's pretty much what i would do- so where does that leave us.

Im on 2 forums in total, i use this one for now, and what iv noticed is a lot of folk, to be honest, not a clue, not a basic clue in what they are doing or where they want to go with things, asking pathetic questions like right monkeys, dont know who the bigger monkeys are, them , or me rof replying to some.

But i guess we all got to start somewhere!!!

Lot of nit picking on this site, i think most are younger than me on here and im 31, maybe between 15 and 24 i would say and for some,  their attitude reflects just that... BANGING ON ABOUT ionics logo and the word reach and wash, its just total rubbish, yes there is copy rite, but the way some on here go banging on about it as if you even metion the word reach and wash your off to jail for a million light years!

to put a nail in the coffin im thinking of going back to the other forum ,lot more grown up.

better than all the rest

I think the FAQ section just needs to be more noticeable.  My first post on here was around November last year, 6 months after I started.  Prior the that, I searched the FAQs section if I needed any information.  I think people should be encouraged to do that first ;D

Yes i agree with this. I also cringe at some advice given. It's difficult if not impossible to sort the wheat from the chaff.

That was interesting Jeff. It was easy to see where alex had taken his direction from.

You are such a nice guy and keep out of the spats.I have never understood the low water use, i use loads, but it's to do with speed. The other thing is, this high work that your known for, is it a large percentage of what you do in time? What do you do canvass light houses?

Who would decide which category applies to you?  Do you ever hear someone start a post "I`ve no idea what I`m talking about but..."  ::)

Also, a newbie may know more than someone with a lot more experience.
It`s all about human nature. Come on man, get a grip.

ive got exactly 2 3/4 yrs experience, which i suppose would class me as a veteran, experienced, trained noob.

i met a 20 yr + oldie the other day, which should be classed as a windy god!

but is just using resin, a 250L tank, and no internet advertising, and was trying to clean gutters with a tele pole, and a sponge dipped in water and soap!

go figure! all you need is common sense.
