i have a vivaro 52plate and 56 plate traffi no problems with either
Hi Ronnie,
I haven't got a Vivaro myself but know 3 customers who have them and they haven't experienced any of the issues some of the guy's on here have reported. Whilst that doesn't bring any consolation to those who have experienced problems, the problem is that we never get to see the whole picture. In other words, how many vehicles have a certain problem compared to those that don't.
As many of you know I worked for Bosch Power Tools in South Africa for many years in the After Sales Service division. We had a Service workshop in Johannesburg and had one technician repairing angle grinders virtually full time. One day I was wandering around the workshop and this technician said to me that he felt Bosch Angle Grinders where rubbish (he used a different expression) and if he were to buy an angle grinder it would never be a Bosch. When I asked him why he felt that way his answer was from the number of machines he repaired all day.
In South Africa it was widely recognised that Bosch had the best value for money grinder on the market. Metabo was better, but was much more expensive, so this came as an eye-opener for me. This techinician only saw a piece of the jigsaw which affected his motivation. It was only when we put a list of new product sales on the notice board every month and compared them to the number of repairs with a percentage against sales that their perception changed.
By the way, one of those 3 customers of mine had his turbo 'blowup'. He couldn't switch the engine off as the engine was running on its own oil. He stuck the van in 6th gear and stalled the engine on the brakes. New turbo fitted and everything was fine again. Haven't heard anyone complaining of a blown turbo on this site as far as I can remember.
