I have been running a domestic cleaning business for almost 2 years now and the normal house cleaning is going a bit slow.
I have been doing one off spring cleans and now i want to look at putting in tenders for local authority's council's etc.
Where do i look for tenders???

Hello Domestic Bliss, and Welcome to the forum.
Hopefully someone will point you in the correct direction, as i have no idea other than walking to the council and asking them directly at the desk!!
All the best.
Kind Regards
Tim

I will explain a bit more as to what i mean.
I wondered if authority's kept mailing lists as to all the company's in the area when they want to put contracts out to tender.
I recieved one once for a builders clean on a brand new nursing home. However i could not tender for it as i had no staff as i work on my own.
Obviously i will then have to get a team together if i want to go into this line of work.

Hi Domestic Bliss and welcome!
As you haven't posted in your profile where you are from, I do not know how easy or hard it is to find good staff where you are based. I would recommend you initiate your employment process now, as you will see that there are quite a few of us who are having a mare of a time trying to find good staff!
There's nothing worse than having to turn potential customers away because you don't have the staff to do the jobs, as you have already found!!

If you're looking for government tenders under £100k take a look at this website for further information
http://www.supplyinggovernment.gov.uk/
. You could also take a look at your local council's website (some supply a list of current tenders). Failing that, i'd visit a local school etc and ask them where they advertise.

hi there,
www.tendersdirect.co.uk
is a site which dispalys contracts in excess of £100,000 as they have to be displayed in OJEC.
otherwise you need to present yourself to the purchasing dept, they will proabably want you to complete a questionnaire so that you can be included on their list of companies that they will invite to tender.
persistence does pay, you need to sell and market yourself.
so good luck
