Anyone fitted a 650L tank in a transit connect?

you need to look at the payload fella, connects are small payload.

650l you want a transit sized van

I havnt got a van yet. What it is I want to buy a system and I've got 1 company saying it should fit and another saying it won't, the company saying it won't are quite a bit cheaper and wanted to get it from them and I live to far away just to take the van there before I order it

Its likely that the 2 companies systems are different dimensions.

The connect's dimensions range from:

H - 1193mm  L - 1760mm  W - 1226mm  Payload - 625kg on a T200 SWB Low Roof to

H - 1364mm  L - 1986mm  W - 1226mm  Payload - 900kg on a T230 LWB Hi Roof


You'll need to speak to the WFP companies and ask for the overall dimensions of there system.

I would seriously advise not to put a 650l tank in a connect 900kg payload the lower payload one would be total madness and bad of anyone wanting to supply you said item, is not enought for a 650l system, it is not tight it is to small a payload, add frame weight tank weight, hose reel, fuel, you, other bits you are over loaded, 2 in one van and you are going to be way over,

if you have not bought the van get think again and get a bigger van, or get a smaller system.

If you want a 650l tank you would need a long wheelbase connect (also has higher roof) with a 900kg payload.
Even then if you fill tank right up you may be over the payload limit, definitely if you carry a passenger.

I have a LWB connect and have a Pure Freedom 500 litre system in and think thats enough,I would'nt go any more,mind you I have Ramsey ladders on top and they are not the lightest ladders!

650 is too big for a connect, you need a proper transit to carry one that size

no i do have room to store a tank so it all needs to be in the van

I have just measured my 650 litre upright in the shed and my LWB connect,it will definetly fit in behind the bulk head  but I don't know about a low roof connect

thanks for doing that, was the tank 1250mm wide? i think that is a standard width for a 650L, that is the width of the tank that the cleaning warehouse supply and that is where i intend to get my system from.

why cant people just answer my question without make accusations, im asking if a 650l tank will physically fit, not anything to do with the payload.

A L200 then it would be over loaded, if i bought a L220 then the van would have enough payload and they do come in SWB varrient, but then not much else would be able to put in the van, and then last but by no means leat there is the L230 which only comes in a LWB, but has enough payload to be able to carry a 650L tank.

So why dont people just answer the question that people ask, or do some homework first before putting posts on here and looking like a dick in the process

i run transit connects t220 90 ps versions, one use to have a 650 upright no problem and now my new 60 reg is having a 650 flat fitted, both swb low roof.

these vans are brilliant, they are a true van and you will never regret getting one. when i say true i mean they are a commercial vehicle from the ground up and not just a car derived van!!!!!!! remember this.

thanks for that, its just what i needed to know, do you knwo the dimensions of the tank so that i could compare it to the one that i am looking to have fitted?
