so what do you think would be right then?£6 ph plus half of every first clean?

Im a telesales freelancer, have been for 10 years

Its conversion rates and value of the product, I charge an hourly rate and do not do comm only jobs.

You cant call this kind of job on comm only the call volume is too high and the value is too low

You have to pay at least the minimum wage per hour or you are breaking the law.

You have to have employers insurance, and pay their tax and N.I. too.

not had time to read all posts but i have been thinking about this recently and thought about this way of doing it

they get £6.50 an hour regardless, if they hit £100 new work they get £30 extra straight away as this would be there minimum target for ten hours = one new job at £10 avg an hour

then if they hit over that then between 100 - 250 give them 50 % of first clean (charging double on them so they are getting equivalent of one clean , and they are motivated to charge double to get more) then over 250 in a week give them 100 % of first clean on everything over 250 ....

we used to work ona  similar basis at npower it incentivices good quality work and good volume

but you need a proper sales person or at least someone you can train in to that otherwise your wasting yuor time and theres

So you want a canvasser to go out and knock, find you good priced work , say a small semi at £15 done 4 weekly ie £180 a year. And you will pay £7.50 after youve cleaned it, then another £3.75 a month later?? Who with half a brain would stand for that?

Someone who won't /can't climb a ladder or fork out for a wfp van system or just wants a bit of suit your self/hours work?Someone looking to earn an extra few quid for their hols, etc etc

Just my humble opinion

I would pay an hourly rate, with targets and bonuses.

Structured scheme - as I said the product that you are selling is not enough high value to be comm only.  However if based around a certain amount of new business - you have to offer an incentive as in all sales jobs, otherwise no motivation to do well.

Im no expert in this industry with regards to conversion rates, and how many calls you would have to make to get a booking, you can only judge this if you have done the cold calling yourself.

You could for example, X amount of new business £15, and so forth. (thats just a speculative bonus)

Heres a site thats looking for people, however I dont think that they will have much luck with comm only
