I had a lady ask if I could clean a rug for her. She said the reason she wanted the rug cleaning was that there was an odour when the rug got wet. I believe she called it a "killim" or "killin" rug. The rug duly arrived at my premises and I set to cleaning it. Sure enough I got a strong "chemical" smell. I have to say that the rug was not particularly soiled so I am at a loss as to what caused the smell. I have cleaned the rug successfully and it looks fine but I would like to be able to tell the customer what causes the rug to give off an odour when wet. Anybody got any ideas?

First of all how the hell does it get wet? Anyway it will be 100% wool and it will smell like a wet camel when it gets wet.

I don't know why it smell mrs but I know what kilim means.
