Hi all so today i finally bought a van and system yay!

Prob is its dark now and i want to use it  lol

Also got trad gear and trolley thrown it!

Now before anyone says, i bought van with system already in so i did not fit it and will be moving the set up around as is a bit of a lash! poles over battery dripping water hmmm prob not good, tank not secured at all! YET etc etc. 

Now i was thinking of converting it to DI only but not sure our water out of tap is 95-97 ppm so might leave it as is just don't like the thought of hours to fill up and all that waist water.

Anyway here are some pics and as i am still a noob please please advise on better arrangement and set-up etc i am a sponge at the mo so anything at tall you can give is all helpful.

just secure the tank and you look good to go, the set up will come with time once you work out what you need and how quickly you need it

As soon as you can, take out all the kit and get some protectakote down on the floor.
I delayed in putting it down in the back of my van, 12 months later had to pay out for protectakote and £120 for welding. If I had put the protectakote down in the first place I would not have had to fork out for welding.

With tap water being around the 100 mark, I would personally use the RO, what RO is it? 300GPD or 450?
If you can, get an IBC tank and have it filling whilst your out working.
I have a static system and its much more convenient, just fill the tank in the van just like filling up with fuel (if you get a decent transfer pump it takes less time to fill 250-400 litre tank than it does to fill your fuel tank)

Yes i am planing to protectakote it once i have emptied the water already in the tank. then once done that think i will try to get system back it a bit better and neater.

It is a 350lt tank no round yet just starting out although i have a few lined up waiting starting with doing cleaning on my days off untill i can go part time in my current job eventually building to full self employed.

Am going to get knocking soon and leafleting now i have the system.

hi gavin ive got a kangoo and carry 10-12 barrels plus 50L TROLLEY/3 poles/trad gear/1 warning cone and that does me fine.im DI ONLY but tap tds is 35-70 around manchester.i fill up barrels via a monster 25L DI and it takes approx 50 mins to fill 300L in the evening.

what size tank is it gav and how much did you pay for the van and the set up together?

i might get a tank to add to my trolley.

Gavin, I wouldn't bother with a static just yet then.
Practice on your own windows for half a day etc, maybe get someone to video you doing it and post it on youtube and then paste it on here so we can see how you are doing.

Yes it is an SLX i think. I am planing to practice on mine and family's etc i also went out for a day with dave morris which was a great help and picked up loads of tips etc so have small bit of experience.

i binned my r o  tap water ranges from 70 - 100 . d i only now the best thing i did . use about 6000 litres a month resin costs me £300 a year 4 sacks . that to me is well worth it . you have no waste water no waiting for yor tank to fill no more pratting about with filters you can just leave your d i bottles in the van and fill up when you want .if you forget or cant be arsed filling up after a hard day just hook up in the morning and fill at your leisure

2 DI will be better than 1, when the first DI runs out it will still be filtering the water to a certain degree so it prolongs the life of the resin in the second DI.

Yes seems 2 is better. so if i were to do it how would i set it up?

Hose from tap to hose on first Di then through bit more hose to second DI the hose into tank and fill away?

Yes, if you have 6litr DI vessels they will come with 1/2 inch hose connectors.
Mark the bottles (1) this being the first bottle the water goes into and (2) once you TDS readings start to rise, change the resin on bottle (1) and switch the hose around so (2) is now the first bottle the water from the tap goes into, this will get the most out of your resin.

hi gavin thats a hydra alloy NOT an slx(i can tell by the top of the pole!)

but looks like you got a good deal there!

get the cambelt changed if you dont know when it was last done and be careful going over speed bumps as a snapped the rear suspension torsion bar inside the back rear axle a few weeks after getting mine!

apparantly its quite common on the kangoos.you will be on the weight limit with a full tank!mines the 665 version(625kg payload)but yours might be the 550!if it is you could well be over the limit!

find out the exact model and google van payloads and find out what yours is!!

Yes I do, once you start getting loads and loads of customers, then I would suggest getting a static sytem. you will probably only use 1 bag of resin in 12 months if you use that RO on a static.
Pre filters for that RO are approx £25 per set (which need changing every 3-4 months).
But that is for in the future.

Have you started dropping flyers and door knocking?
