2 cleaners or 1?

When doing domestic cleaning, do you send 2 cleaners together at all times or 1 cleaner per house?
I know for safety 2 or more should be present, just wondered what every1 did.
I could get twice the jobs done if we went separately.

Do what works best for you, but i can't see why you'd get more done 2 together for 1 hour is 2 man hours. To achieve this with 1 you'd have to be there 2 hours

gary you should shut up
maybe i'm not explaining myself.
cleaner 1 goes to....house 1.....
and at the same time cleaner 2 goes to......house 2
2 jobs have got done at the same time.
where as if the cleaners go together, they have only completed one job in the same space of time.
makes more money sence to split the cleaners up at use 1 per job, but security and companionship are lost.
do i make sense???

Good God Lisa - is this another of your wind ups!
The answer is in your post hiya, where a couple of us have explained that two cleaners use the same amount of time as one in hrs!
3 jobs at 3 hrs each
1 cleaner will take 9 hrs to complete
2 cleaners working together will take 4.5 hrs EACH to complete = 9 working hours
When you put two cleaners in you do 6 of these jobs TOGETHER = 9 HRS for each cleaner
DO YOU GET IT NOW!

hi there,
its a known fact in the cleaning industry that a team of people ie more than one,, work more effectively, and quicker.
its also a known fact that production rates, drop as the length of time on one site increases.
for instance, dailiy office cleaning, is much better if two people do two hours each, rather than one person doing 4 hours.

Lisa,
I see the big boys are trying to bully youagain,LOL.
As far as cleaners are concerned, I tend to go with waht the client wants. Mostly they like to have one cleaner in, for regular cleaning. That way cleaner and client can build up a better relantionship and everyone knows what work has been done.
However, big jobs I always put at least two cleaners in, but my aim would be to finish the property on the same day, Therefore if a property takes 16 hours to cleaner, then I would put in two cleaners in for 8 hours each.
If a property takes 24 hours to clean then I would put in 4 cleaners at 6 hours each 6 x 4+ 24 hours. Idealy you need to target you big jobs to conplete on the same day then it's out of the way ready for the next job.
Hope this helps
Love

Hi Denise
i think i'll stick with the 1 cleaner per house on regular domestic, as this seems to be what the client wants, but on big cleans, one offs offices etc i'll use more cleaners. This is what i had decided.
just gives us the opportunity to do 2 jobs at once.
it still sounds funny. being onsite 3 full hours and only getting paid for half, cos there are 2 of you. It wouldnt work in any other job.
10 office staff in an office are all there for 10 hours, there fore get paid an hour each......

Lisa,
You can't compare our industry to many others, another way to look at it is eventually as your business grows team work is essential so surely it's better to try and establish this in the early days and what martin said i agree with. It's been tried and tested by many people in the industry, But at the end of the day it's your decision

If I were you I would forget the companionship and concentrate on the maths or simply hire better cleaners as apparently one of them must just stand around watching the other one work
otherwise wouldn’t they do the job in HALF THE TIME!!!!! LOL

Lisa,
If i send two cleaners to contract A they take two hours to do the job. If one is poorly sick and the other has to do it alone it takes that person four hours.....
So does that make sense?
