Website with payments facility??
« on: August 13, 2010, 03:41:41 pm »
Hi gang,
I know i have seen these posts many times but never took notice until now as i need one  :(
Can you help me out please as to where to get a good website done (good i mean a basic, dont need to be too flash)

What i really want from it is to be able to provide custy's with a method to pay(to cut out as much collecting as possible, trying to leave pre pay evelopes & bank details but wanted to give them as many options as possible both to make it as easy for them & me,which is the real purpose and to also show a little of a professional appearance

with the facility of payment on line which in your opinion is the best??ie paypal etc

Sorry for the long post, thanks for your help guys  ;)

Thats the problem paypal is trusted and seems to be the standard, but yes like you say it is the cut they take that is not so nice.

I could help with site if your were happy with finding a free template you liked and getting domain name obviously less costly than big designers etc. I could also host it for you on my vps server (small fee a month) ;)

Ye it is webs. webs is a free online website maker but you have ads forced on the site and quite often have slow sites or down time. good for low to no budget though.

Sorry your site is not loading for me here.

the pop up adds at the top are a little distracting from your site chopsie,i allways get worried when something says FREE  ;D
do you find any problems with 'NOCHEX' ??and do many pay you this way??

Roughly about £4.50/month for hosting
Around £50 for site template setup and modifications depending on how many pages and content etc.

These are rough figures but around about right.

You would need to buy a domain from a site like this, then we would need to point that domain to my nameservers techno mumbo jumbo! http://www.123-reg.co.uk/ i use them and are very good.

You would then need to hunt the net for a free template that you like. most colours etc i can change so if you like one but colours are not quite right i can sort it. here's a few good places for free templates.

I only set web site up so people could pay online. Most of non cheque/cash payers pay straight into my bank account. Have probably 10 payments a month with nochex, sometimes more sometimes less. It works fine, Just the percentage they take pees me off a bit but its cheaper than collecting. If you let your account build up to over a certain amount (£50 i think) then there is no charge for withdrawals, I am happy with it
