Another string to the bow

we will be adding high pressure drain clearing to our services over the next few weeks, should be a good earner! ;D ;D

When I run short of windows to clean, Then I think I might knock some doors and get more windows to clean.
I think this would be a good earner ;D

Steven, can you earn £150 an hour cleaning windows? because that is the going rate round here for the service im talking about.

A friend of mine bought a drain franchise. People only call if they have problems. It's a big investment to make unless you have the marketing skills to catch those people tyhat need the service. Personally, I'd always start with the water board if I had problems.

If you can earn that sort of dosh and there is enough work I cant see you cleaning windows for much longer

I don't really advertise drain jetting but do some on my commercial works. It is an incredible earner. Know what you are doing though!!!! How much kit have you bought, do you have a camera set up.??

the things people are saying are all very true, it is not a big investment for us as we already have the pressure washer (fully commercial 200bar - 3000psi) all i have bought is the long hose and end atachments that go up the drain. I have been out with a local company and seen how its done and how to charge. we have very strong marketing (marketing was my background before window cleaning) and a very large customer base. My staff do 90% of our window cleaning and so on, I tend to do all the one off window cleans and jet washing, this is a new serivce just for me to do, and the money is very good. so if we only get a few jobs thats fine.

i was going to do this but was told there are a lot of laws rules and regs coming out next year about what you can and cant do and what you need to be able to carry out this type of work,so i never bothered!

im taking it youve a STRONG STOMACH!?   first thing monday morning a backed up sewer at a nursing home wouldnt be for everybody !


 cash up front ! before the arm reach down to release the manhole door

Hi Lee,

I think what Rob is trying to hint at is that commercial drain jetting units can be set up to have huge ltrs/min. Typically 30-50 ltrs min but larger units go up to 150-200 ltrs/min and can be set up from 1500-12000 psi.

Even our top end industrial pressure washers we use for cleaning are not really designed for drain applications, but should be able to cope with basic drain work and get your foot in the door.

thats what i would of said. I had the opportunity to go into bin cleaning and had large scope to make a lot of money. But it stinks and i didn't want the aggro of dealing with it all day.

If i could handle the stench and working with that i would of trained as a plumber and started my own business in that. I'm sure i would of made more money than i do now but dealing with number 2's all day is not for me :-\

Yes i have seen the machines you are talking about. Im only thinking of residential at the moment.
