if a customer as not paid in say a week or 2 weeks,assuming they are on a 4 week cycle do send reminders,collect,or wait till next clean do you actually do the next clean so they owe double or do you miss the clean until they have paid up,
im slowly phasing  collecting out but the amount owed is creeping up

I just clean twice, if no payment then, just keep dropping reminders in when in area and/or call in.

Our terms of payment are 14 days for dom and 30 days for com...now if a dom customer goes 7 days over the 14 day period they start getting emails/phone calls....they'll get 1 further clean...then will be put on 'hold' until paid if another clean date goes by and then they pay, they will be charged a 50% surcharge to get the house back to maintaince clean. If this is repeated soonish...I would consider them ready for the knackers yard.

Sometimes though you just have to play it by ear and there will always be exceptions to the rule.

As for com work...I do not have much of that and they seem to pay on time.

I normally allow two cleans but will stretch to three if the amount is small.  I only write a reminder letter if it's gone past two cleans.  If no-one is in when I visit for the trhird clean, I normally don't clean and write a reminder letter.  I politely make it clear that, like all businesses, I depend upon cashflow for survival and ask that future payments are made more promptly.  If they are persistent, I drop the job.

I ask all customers that are not in to ring me to arrange payment or use paypal. If they dont pay i dont go back. simple

i'm in the process of doing away with collecting as well. One clean only now though, 7 days to pay (decided on 7 days after much deliberation) and then phone calls start after 21 days if no payment recieved. With most people its getting them to understand whats expected. Don't do anymore than one clean here though, not any more!

I never collect a normal payment. After three times i send a reminder, then pay them a visit
