Hi Guys

The Spifire is kevin Loomes, a nice guy who many of you know.

I would imagine Kev keeps his equipment in very good condition.

Cheers

A question for all you experienced 'truckmounters' out there.......

What doya reckon on the transit/chemtex outfit up on ebay?

Has the transit 300 got sufficient laden weight capacity for this outfit?

Not heard of the Chemtex truckmount - understand that it is from the US - would spares/servicing be a problem here? (I live in Dorset)  is 1700 hrs a lot?

What value would you put on this outfit?

Would you recommend it for someone upgrading from a porty?

appreciate any advice/comments.  Thanks Pete.

Yes the Chemtex truckmounts are sold via Woodbridge Commercials and they are base in Essex UK.  I have spoken to various guys that own this brand of truckmounts and all seem to be really happy with them.  Yes the van is fine for that setup.  The truckmount is now probably worth in the region of £4000 - £5000 then you have the fresh water tank, fuel tank, hose reels, hoses, wand, hand tool, sprayer to add to that price which would be in the region of £1000 - £1500.....Plus the price of the van so i would imagine around the £12,000 is close.

Hi Pete, Looks like all you questions have been answered but if you do need anymore info feel free to email me.... jcleanbright@aol.com

We've not had a problem reguarding the weight in the Transit, It still pulls very well and will sit at motorways speeds all day long.

Woodbridge are the importers of the Chem-Tex machine and have all spares and service items in stock, although these can also be bought direct from America on ebay.

Hope that helps, Gary  ;)

Edit: No worries Alan  ;D

Hi Joe, Its gone into a MWB Fiat Ducato, Not our first choice of vans but its one of the only vans can can take the high payloads  :o

Brief spec of the machine is, 68hp Zenith Engine, Roots 59 Blower - 850cfm :o, Cat 5 Pump, Working very well at the moment but as its still relativly new so were still playing with it.

Once were fully up to speed ill get some pics up of the new set-up as we've had lots of custom parts made up that might be of interest to some of you guys such as custom water tanks, custom plastic lining for the van with bespoke shelving and storage boxes. We've been planning/designing the van for over 10months and its all finally coming together  :D

Just read all about your new machine at http://www.carpet-cleaning-equipment.co.uk/genesis_zxt.htm   sounds really impessive,  would be interesting to see how it would perfom alongside Hydramasters Titan.   I bet you would also be able to run 3 wands of your new toy.  Have you sed it with to tools attached with the different heat setting for each tool yet>  that sounds really handy.  It certainly is a heavy machine though.  What kind of price is it for the basics.....(truckmount with standard equipment)?

Hi Richie,

It is very impressive if I do say so myself ;D, It exceeded our expectaions anyway :o, The old man (owner of the business ::)) went down to Hydramasters to demo the Titan before we made our purchase and was actually very dissapointed with its performance, Even to the point of saying our previous machine (the one for sale) created better heat :o, He was however very impressed with the customer service that John provides.

Reguarding the weight, It is extreamly heavy, Just the unit along comes in at 600kg so when you start to add on water tanks, hose reels and a few other bits it becomes very close to the vans weight limit, This is another reason why we decided on custom plastic water tanks rather than SS.

Im sure it will be easy capable of 3 wanding so this maybe something we try in the furture, We've not yet tried dual wanding yet but will be very shortly ;D

The different outlets are awsome too, Something so simple but so handy, Just switch over to warm for upholstry and it also means one can mix up pre-spray with cold water whilst the other is still working :D, Very handy indeed.

Price wise ;D, Well we got a good deal on the unit but I believe with the way the USD is to the Pound it comes in close to 24k and thats before you start adding on the extras  :o
