BARGAIN BUY
« on: July 18, 2010, 11:35:37 am »
Just to let everyone know Argos have a 5lt sprayer on offer for £9.99 thats half price. I bought one on
Friday And used it yesterday on a job with no problems. Good value when you consider what your usual
suplier charges for these. Its worth getting one at that price to just use as a spare. That offer is on until
the 23rd July and the catalogue number is 720/3769

                                                                         Regards John Rimmer

 ;D

ive also heard a rug doctor is a lot cheaper than a truckmount, if only i'd known earlier. ;D

on a serious note though, i suppose there all right for one offs like flea treatment and as you say like a back up incase a proper one eventually breaks its seals.

These spayers are advertised as for putting on fence treatment so using one for what we would use one for i cannot see a problem with. And just becouse it comes from Argos lets not get to snoby hey.
I have been doing this job for 18yrs and i can asure you in that time spent a lot of money on suposed
to be made for the job sprayers, granted some have lasted longer than others and some have not.
I have for a long time thought that the price of some of these sprayers that we get from supliers is to say the least exesive. I dont think £9.99, is even if it only lasted a few months.

Thanks for the link John - I'll check one, if only for some of my lighter use spraying.  I also agree that it's silly to get snobby or assume that anything domestic of mainstream isn't good for us pros! ....... I get most of my small handheld spray bottles from Maxwell DIY now for 39p, a lot better than the £1.89 I was paying from an industry supplier, and works exactly the same.....

orion sprayers last around a year before seals go and are 60 quid, seals are 8 quid . now thats a bargain, not snobbery john, realism. when i first started i bought some b an q sprayers for the same price, 6 litre ones, clogged up and lost compression within  3 weeks, waste a money and very unprofessional when the custy says, "oh ive got one of them, there on sale at argos for £9.99  ;D.  you get what you pay for. leave ya to it mate

I dont rate them Orion sprayers at all.  Mate of mine keeps buying them and they keep breaking. The amount of time ive advised him to get a stainless steel one like Prochem sell.  I bet he coul have bought at least 3 of them in the past 2 yrs for the price he has spent on Orion sprayers.
