Ionics Pro - 7 although it is very expensive to buy and run, we use one and to be honest I would definately go back to a Pro -6 next time.

so really its no different to having a ratio of 50% waste with a ro-man,

As  , if yours is expensive to buy and run,..  etc etc, ... versus water bill with a ro man ..

There isn't anything else.
You would be better off with a professionally fitted piece of kit, there are lots about.
Are you thinking about saving money or saving water?
If its money, just buy a good system - if its water - Pro-7

I have a good system, its not for me, its a friend on a meter and paying for waste seems pointless , curse of the job i suppose,

i thought there was something out there that did not produce much waste,

also if a pro 7 is expensive to run and buy, ... it defeats the objest.

I think this is what you are looking for , they also do an add on to the kit which consists of a holding tank for the waste , it has a float valve fitted so when the tank is full a booster pump kicks in and this goes back through the RO , that was a bit of a crude explanation but i am assured it works , they have had a couple of units on trial with a council up north for some time , results are promising so i am told , there was at first concern over the life span of the filters but this too im told is better than expected

I am on a metre and use an ROman style 500 GPD unit with booster pump. I am only charged £1.09 per cubic metre which is 1,000 litres out of that I produce 600 pure and 400 waste. considering 400 litres of pure water will give me enough water to earn £150-£200 its such a minute cost.
If he is that worried about how much its costing, he is using way too much water per house.
I use approximately 20litres of water for a 3 bed semi and I  charge them £10
so in return for costing just over a quid for 600 litres you should be bringing in between £250-£300 from that.

I've heard that adding a Permeate Pump to the RO reduces waste water significantly but I haven't used one myself so cannot verify this.
