less carpet?
« on: September 05, 2005, 06:12:37 am »
Hi all

Are cleaners in the UK noticing a decrease in the volume of fitted carpet to clean and an increase in hard surface flooring and loose area-rugs?

Ditto Steve,
hardfloors have had their day, people are becoming wiser to health issues.

While there is quite a lot of wooden and laminate floors around I do notice what appears to be a trend back to carpeting again, in fact it is surprising the amount of carpet people are now putting into new houses.

I'm surprised no ones commented on the real reason for Steves post, the advertising of his 'Rug badger'. He makes it sound like the answer to cleaning rugs when all it does is tamp the back off the carpet & shake out the dust.

I appreciate that this is an important part of rug cleaning but who is going to import this machine all the way from canada, it might be usefull to all the rug cleaning plants but not to the average carpet cleaner.

I use my Kirby, it really vibrates the rug and loosens the dirt
