better finish&less spotting?FAN JETS??
« on: July 01, 2010, 10:07:03 pm »
ive only been wfp for 3 weeks and im not liking the pencils much!!

does fan jets do a better overall job??

and can you somehow convert the brushes i have to fan jets?

i have:

VIKAN RECTANGLE MONO/VIKAN SILL BRUSH

GARDINERS SUPALITE DUAL TRIM FLOCKED
GARDINERS SUPALITE DUAL TRIM MONO(awaiting delivery!)

BRODEX LIGHTWEIGHT STANDARD BRUSH(for short pole)

could i convert them all to fanjets without too much trouble?

price higher/work harder!

Yes!

You'll pinch yourself Daz when you rinse on hydrophobic glass with fan-jets compared to pencils  ;D

Why didnt I use them before?  ;) ;)

Hiya dazmond mate ;)
I use fan jet's and they sound man ;)cover loads of the area, used right....but for the lads i have pencil jets in there brushes ;D
The thing is,personaly mate,i think the pencil are sound as you can see every drop ov water coming out & more accuracy(sh*t speller)
as with the fan jet's...they are a much wider spray, but i find if your not verry carefull you can have water everywere.....sometimes you might catch above a window with water & cause runns etc....
I have fan jet's in my own pole......as im a top window cleaner, but the lads on the other hand, not as carefull as me ;D i have them useing pencils....
I went for the fan jets a long time ago as i think less water useage...theres a tiny outlet hole in them, compared to a pencil jet........must use less water & you will cover a wider area when rinseing with a fan jet ;)
Ya will be able to convert that man....just a case ov a couple holes.....DONT make holes to big tho bud or you will have a knightmare keeping jets in....... :)

Hope this helps bud...but its wot ya prefer man..... ;)
I could think about sending you a couple ov fan jets to try out if you want mate...have to check first tho...not sure if i got spares???
But you will have to send them back to me tho mate... ;)

Take care mate & good luck whatever ya decide ;)
Kind regards
Justin ;)

Daz, where are you?

I feel tempted to come over to yours and show you a long-term WFP setup. I'll come out with you and go round a few of your houses, do some together and you can see how it goes then once you have a bit of time under your belt.  8)

How effective are pencils on hydrophobic glass?

Theyre about as useful as a chocolate fire-guard.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

You're welcome to them if thats what you think, keep up wonky-washers  ;D

fans fans fans , im a fan , if you have the brass pencils in your brushes , then you just got lucky , look on ebay , a seller is having them machined into a fan jet , my bro got some , £6 a set , just pull the pencils out and they will go in the old holes

glass is glass if you still listen to that tripe your madder than I thought, I can pencil jets any window, I would lay money that a fan would make no difference on the way I rinse in regards to the result, maybe I am just blessed at using pencil jets  :-\

Hand on heart fans are messy, add vents into it and they are a royal pain in the deriair..

thats not controversial, some people just dont like getting wet, thats quite simple!. Cleaning in the rain makes no difference to the finish, I don't have any problems at all doing it, my guys work they get paid they are happy. if I stopped in the rain they would not get paid the customers would not get clean windows and then everyone would moan at me. I keep everyone happy  ;D lesson to be learnt there  ;)

I've used both and now only use fan jets - but only with a tap on my belt so that occasionally I can turn the flow down and they become light pencil jets and I can do a light rinse in a corner or under the top seal or where I cannot get the brush straight on to (over an extension or a conny or what-have-you.)
It's a game of three halves!
