im starting to see the potential of wfp now!

i have another full week of first cleans to do yet then back round for second cleans.

ive picked up 5 new jobs today and im also cleaning more windows on my existing round that i didnt do before(above connys/skylights etc)all adding extra money.

ive not even started on canvassing bigger jobs until i have a bit more confidence and experience with wfp.

but things are defo getting better!most windows again came up good again today!

also im not as tired  like i was climbing ladders 100+ times a day!

wfp is one hell of a tool for window cleaning in the majority of cases!!

i cant say my feet were firmly on the ground though as i nearly tripped over a few plant pots and a small fence while poling this afternoon!!

It took actually witnessing experience operators using WFP to open my eyes more Dazmond.  I watched them flying around flats (on maintenance cleans) that were three floors above ground level.  It was a Eureka moment for me.  I saw it as the solution to my debt problem - though I had to borrow some more first to tool up.  Unlike some, I did actually pay out to have a system installed in my van by a supplier company.  Once the first couple of cleans were out of the way, the early benefits for me were in getting much more time off work rather than earning extra.  The six week plod on the ladder became a 3.5 - 4 week scrub with WFP.  This was fine at the time because a friend of mine was dying and I preferred to spend time with him rather than earning extra.  Then I started to pass on/drop the work that was more hassle with WFP - particularly the link detached up-and-over jobs and the ones that were down long walkways.  I did use a trolley and backpack for a while but the jobs weren't priced for the extra time this took in messing about.  Bit by bit work started to drift in that was more compatible with my equipment - work such as mid range commercial jobs that can take several hours.  In fact, some of my better work has come via other window cleaners who I know.  They weren't tooled up to do such jobs as they were still using ladders so they gave out my details to the building owners.  I've always tried to maintain good relations with other shiners because I just prefer things that way.  I never expected to gain work through it though.

im also not getting behind with work as im working a bit later than normal.quite a lot are all wfp with some just tops/lowers trad.

paul i think ill get rid of over the flat garage roof jobs etc over time as well.i have about 20 or so.

i still use my ladders occasionally as i need the single pointer for some lower work where wfp would be unsuitable(commercial job)or unlocking side gates

also my 3.5m ladders are used for the odd flat roof access and my block of granny flats!

there also very handy if someones locked themselves out!(my girlfriend last week!! )

Have a look at the video on the Gardiners website (the one dealing with fitting a pole hose tap)
Then buy yourself some pole hose and the taps featured in the video.
I suffered with wet legs all last winter until i fitted these taps, they are brilliant.
Just make sure you fit the to the right pole hose.
BTW Dazmond, i always look at threads started by you as I find i learn more from them than others.
I am also in a similar position to you being in the cheshire area and only recently converted to WFP (8 months ago)

I found the first couple of weeks of ladderless window cleaning my feet were sore, i think it was because i was used to climbing ladders most of the day not walking!

Yes the wetness is horrible in winter. I'd advise you to invest in a pair or two of fleece lined waterproof pants. They were such a luxery for me last winter

Using a tap on your belt holster takes one second per operation.
I wouldn,t work without one.

hi mate what system are you thinking of mate does have its downside with domestics they seem a bit reserved about it but when they get the frames done for nowt seems to sway them around

I have a tap on the hose reel never use until I have finished or otherwise, using it wastes too much time, which is valuable the water is cheap. This new Aqua-Daptor looks very good but even with that I would use it all the time just use it when necessary, as I do now.

Using a tap will cost you at least a days wage over the year.

I would scrap the pole hose tap it is in the wrong place!!, never did get why Alex does it this way round disconnect and water in van not able to use water if needed without pole (to many reasons for why it is wrong imo. I did try it and cost myself over £100 in fittings and changed back the next week.

hose tap, rectuse 21 pole sorted.

whater as and when you want shut off when you want rinse hands, sills what every when you want without a pole, common sence to me..,

tap on hose reel, no need to discounect at all most of the day (uless the pole hose is tangled)
