My Envirodri is just over 12 months old and has a horizontal crack on the side of the machine just below where you turn the locking mechanism i phoned Envirodri to order a spare part thinking that the side has several locking screws and would be replacing just the part damged, they said they did not have the part i needed in stock and were not sure that the whole machine case would need to be replaced :o  if this is the case then i am disgusted as it appears to be removable.

A bit like replacing the bumber on a car when you dent the bonnet, i will let you know >:(

The machine has never been dropped so i cant explain how it happened either.

Simon I have had the flexi 5 for 2 months. I believe it is a good addition to have in your cleaning arsenal of equipment. When using it as a pre agitator for pre spays, take the vacum pod off, this helps putting extra stain on drive belts, also check the drive belt tensions on a regular basic. also change the drive brushes over from top to bottom.
The one point that people overlook is the perceived side to cleaning. We did a commercial job recently and the project manager came over and asked about the flexi 5, he then made a comment and said that looks a serious bit of equipment, makes a change to what the contract cleaners bring in.

Totally agree - perception is huge, especially in medium to high end work.  If you were doing a full dry compound clean of a domestic home's carpets and all you have with you is a bucket of HOST, and a SEBO DUO.... let's face it, it's not going to look professional .....and it can be harder to justify a good price.   (Has no-one had the "it looks like a carpet sweeper" comment about the DUO yet?  ;D ).

Conversely, although it doesn't look as good as a HOST Freestyle or Flexi5 because of the lack of vac pod, my new Envirodri GEN4 is an impressive looking (and performing, thankfully) bit of kit. When people see this nice, shiny, big blue (they are blue now!) thing, they know something special is going to happen with their carpet!

Perception is arguably... everything.

I agree - it may have sounded like I was putting the DUO down in my post above, I wasn't, I actually use one on nearly every job, purely for agitation.  But for a full, thorough dry compound job, I'd never rely on just the DUO for the main compound agitation, as the brushes are about 25% as effective as the GEN4's brushes, and there just isn't enough the weight to help with the job.

The Envirodri GEN4 is a heavy machine!

SEBO DUO = prespray agitation, perfect, great job.

ENV. GEN4 = prespray agitation, top job available, and dry compound agitation, at least as good as HOST Freestyle.

Anyone interested in the GEN4 should have a word with Jonh Williams at CareClean UK.  I just got mine delivered last Monday and I love it. They're now blue (used to be green, then black), with some improved engineering and increased weight.  I think the list price is just about to go up. List price when I ordered was £945+VAT but after some gentlemanly haggling with John, I paid a bit less than this...  ;D     If you just want an agitator to get the best possible wet pre-spray agitation the GEN4 is overkill and humping it in an out of your van (in addition to your HWE) will get on your nerves.     But if like me, you're doing at least 25% dry businesss, the GEN4 is a hell of an investment.  As I've said before, with the right well-honed techniques, the GEN4, and the right chems, I am now getting results from dry compound cleaning that I genuinely never thought possible.   Seriously murky, greasy, stained carpets coming up beautiful.   But it's all in the prep. Just like a HWE rinse, the dry compound (sponge) element is really just the mop up.  The prep is where you sow the seeds in getting a fab result.

Sorry if I sound a bit evangelical but it's genuine.  8)

Cheers,

He's a TOP fella - the level of service he offers should be the rule not the exception..... and the great thing is, if he slips into some 'sales spiel' he'll freely admit it!

I got a Sebo Duo for agitation and thought it was great. I then got an Envirodri and thought it was much better and then got a Flexi5 which is fantastic. The only downside is the weight, but is worth the humping for the extra quality you can achieve.
