have i got everything????
« on: August 28, 2005, 11:53:57 am »
Hi
As you all are aware, those who have read my numerous help posts :) thatnks for helping everyone!!

I have got my 1st job tomorrow as a one off cleaning offices, and again for the same guy on thursday, one off to clean his empty house for tenants to move in.

I have written my task checklist, my general terms and condition of service, an agreement setting out the job for him to sign that he's happy for us to do all on checklist and to sign at end of job to say he is satisfied.
Will i need to do a risk assess as he shows me around? is there anything else i need to do?
I'll write the invoice/quote when he is there once i have seen it and before doing the work and will state that i will require payment on the completion of each job.
Can you think that i'll need anything else?
Thanks

garyj

Make sure he gets a written quote before you start work & give him the invoice after the work is complete.
You will be very lucky to get paid at the end of the job, if you do, I would knock 5% off the total.

as it is a one off, would it be best to say payment within 7 days then? I would have prefered to be paid at then end of each job, or at the least at the end of the 2nd job.
What shouldi state on my quote/invoice?

I would say 28 days.

As part of what you are cleaning is a commercial area the owner might be expecting 28 days anyway.

We'd all like to be paid at the end of each job, if I was I'd be rich!!

double checkin, sorry to bore everyone :)

I have my general terms and conditions
my id passes
declaration to sign t&C
declaration to sign to say happy with work
Job checklist

then i just need to take my quote book and write the price date and job on it and when it should be paid.

then when i get home, i'll type up an invoice and post to him.

is this right???

sorry forgot to add, do i do risk assess when he is showing me around?? or do i use one i have already prepared, and does he have to see it???

Hi Lisa,

Stick with the payment terms of 7 days, if the client is unhappy with that he will try to negotiate better terms, give yourself room to manoveure.

Cheers Mark.
