Done it along time ago.

Watch out !!!!

Some folk will end up never paying for their windows. They will have a new one every time you go round.

Form why is that a bad thing if they get you lots of work ?  Surely if they are getting you customers then a free clean is cheap ?

how do you let your customers know about this? do you just tell them? have it on your business cards? give them all a letter?

been thinking about doing this for a while but maybe 50 percent off for 2 customers

I just tell them and I think its good value , you are not paying anything except the labour and if you employed a canvassing company you would have to pay them at least 2 cleans .

Maybe it's different for you guys. There is more than enough windows out there without doing any free.

I do a simple slip and put it in all their neighbours doors. Full price. Double for the first clean if it's minging.

Canvassing company?

Slip your local paper boy £5 and a handful of flyers. Job Done.

If your looking for new customers, i think its a good idea.

Im thinking of doing the same. Apart from it will be free clean if in the same street, 50% if in a different street.

Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

Never ever do a free clean especially if your wfp. First cleans are the hardest/longest cleans of all. You'll be losing money anyway even if you charge.

50% off to the existing custy - not the new one!!

new one gets 1st clean price -  minimum 50% more than regular clean price  8)

all my customers are aware that they are very welcome to reccomend me to local friends / neighbours / family / work mates and work place  , and they regularly do . i find a genuine thank - you is all thats required .
you could put on your ' windows have been cleaned ' slips , something like : reccomendations always welcome .
i wouldnt do free cleans , but if it works for you , go for it ( but they would probably reccomend you if your any good , any way ! ) .
